That's just my opinion.

I don't agree, we all collectively stayed on this shard because of it's challenge. It may have been unbalanced, and I was definitely an advocate for that, but it certainly had it's strict guidelines.
I'm hopeful we don't lose that in this transition, or else we'll fall by the wayside like thousands before. It may be old thinking, but I still think Pangaea's future will be POL.

Re: Your Burning Questions / FAQ Re: RunUO/Shard Update
There was no challenge in POL PVM for instance, and I believe alot of the veterans wanted something to get their teeth into, something we cannot do without an upgrade, realistically.
The project is moving forward and we're making good progress. We won't be loosing the essence of Pangaea, even the classes are almost identical barring some modifications.
The major differences you'll notice, is perhaps the religions and mainly the administrative aspects like guilds, factions etc.
Gumps, performance, monster variation, boats, new quests and automated quests and more RPG elements are to come.
If the players have new features and fun things to do, then I imagine we'll see some great activity. It would be perfect if we could have some RP incentives aswell to boost the quality and quantity of it.
It's a fresh start, a new platform and a chance for people to form new friendships and come at the game from a different angle.

People will want my head for this, especially myself when I later look back and realise I shouldn't have even mentioned this BUT!
What are your plans to prevent muling? Can you script something that alerts a staff member when something is made on one char and used on another of the same account? It hurts to see how little merchant activity we get since most people have for example an archer AND a bowyer and only make items for themselves. It would be great to at least see the actual need to sell things and not use them on your alt.

I wonder if there is a script that does not allow you to wear items created by your account. This is a question for the technical guys!. Not sure how popular this would be.

That would be an useless feature imo.

I've definitely advocated for a no-muling script, and such a thing could be done, but there's always the argument that Johnny raised.Johnny Walac wrote:That would be an useless feature imo.

No offence to Johnny but I think his argument is useless. At least it'd increase activity and interaction between the players some.

So I know I'm going to fight Zaradon for example, I can just bring gear that his alt smith made and if he wins he can't use the stuff anyway. It's not useless - it's dumb.

Re: Your Burning Questions / FAQ Re: RunUO/Shard Update
Correct, he can't equip the stuff his alt crafted. However it opens up other options still. Some examples being he can either A) Sell it to another player for a discounted "used goods" price, or B) He could sell it to another smith that can smelt into ingots. Either way it's a win-win. Another player gets gear, Zara gets money. Another smith gets ingots, Zara gets money.
It has been done before on previous servers and I liked it. It will have pros and cons yes. However I see most of the cons being biased.

Something I have always loved about hunting in Ultima was finding those awesome elemental weapons. Such as my most prized ones coming from Journey's End being the frozen lunar viking sword of vanquishing I found and lost then Eric Johnson retrieved and kept until he lost it and it wound up being in my museum I made specifically for items like these, or the durable and flaming malachite longsword of ruin . It would be fun to find items like these. I was never sure if Pangaea ever had these or if they only existed in "iron" ore form and you'd need to use those stones to transfer magical properties from one another. One player did tell me they didn't think they existed on Pang, though it would be a nice implementation for PvM or even to earn that one epic weapon to obliterate the PvP fields. Either way it's nice to find different colored magical items. Not just weapons, but armor too. Could they exist on the RunUO platform if they're not already on POL version? Or would that be too much of a change for players? I don't see it ruining business of merchants, seeing they themselves can find these items and gain material from it. Of course the better versions of these coming from the best mobs the shard has to offer and drop rates being super rare for the best quality ones found.
