Why the annoying small text? Funny you should say that though, most of the internet hated the Wolverine Origins movie and liked the second, but it is like you of course to be different ;)

The small text is because I don't want to spoil any of it to those who might want to see it. Yeah, I've read the critic too and was quite surprised about it. Then again the internet is full of idiots but I'm only one! ;) I thought the first movie was actually good. At least if you compare the plot and most of all the story of the two movies, the story of the second one is very shallow, almost non-existant. That plus the many, many errors stated in the previous post :)

What comes to movies, Odd Thomas was entertaining. I haven't read the books and apparently they are much better - a real shocker... not - so a fan of the books might not like the movie.

I honestly liked the first movie too, I thought it was pretty good. I liked the second one as well though, maybe I'm a Wolverine fanboy and don't realize it ;)

I saw a behind the scenes making of, Wolverine, on HBO. Hugh apparently made a record for playing the role of a titular character of any genre. Hugh was able to act out a part of Wolverines history, that he felt was worth pursuing into a major feature film. Additionally, he stated that during the making of the other X-Men films, the canon (comic books) were considered contraband on-set, because of the direction the production took. It seems that the movie is more of a laser focused attempt at building a pivotal character arch for Wolverine having too deal with some very relateable topics, all of us have at one time or another considered: our mortality.

Unfortunately, the way the X-Men franchise went didn't really allow for a lot of opportunities to develop that world: actors wanted more money, weak script writing / director, fanbase withered etc. The movie itself is really an attempt too keep this world alive and possibly pivot off of for future films, should the popularity of the genre bubble again.

I remember watching those episodes on Fox Kids :D! Was one of my favs. I could see an interwoven storyline related to the Wolverine franchise. But that plot twist involved a host of characters that would need too be explained in subsequent films. It's an interesting idea though. Now you've got me thinking about the possibilities of new films focused on introducing new characters where the conclusion is this alternate reality. Tricky business though due to the nature of advertising and marketing. Introducing unpopular characters can be disastrous if they don't receive the requisite fan fare.

I have those episodes on my computer right now, Bishop was awesome. I love it when Wolverine pops his claws and says "Absorb these, bub."

I'll tell you one movie I won't be wasting my time with, 47 Ronin. It's an amazing story and from the previews of this Americanized production of it, it looks as if it has nothing to do with the real story and even if it did, it looks like a Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon style movie which is definitely not needed for this amazing story.

Though I might be spoiled as I saw Chushingura: Hana no Maki, Yuki no Maki which being a movie is also fictionalized in ways, it does a great job telling this terrific tale of loyalty and honor. If you have never heard of this tale, take the time to read the brief rundown of it, on Wikipedia, while being Wikipedia it doesn't go into extreme depths, it gives you a general idea of what took place, under what conditions it occurred and it's eventual outcome.

While obviously i haven't seen this Americanized remake of it, I saw the preview and was not impressed, if you can find it at your local rental store (I know whats that!) I seriously recommend checking out Chushingura: Hana no Maki, Yuki no Maki. As a side bonus, it has Toshiro Mifune in it which is never a bad thing!

Finally sorry I know it isn't out yet but I saw the preview for it recently and was outraged at what looks to be a serious injustice to this incredibly amazing true story.

Didn't Kenau Reeves already make a couple of martial arts movies where he was the chosen one?

After reading a newspaper culture page of hatred over this movie, appearently because it depicts heroic, blonde white men and has no gender perspective, I've decided to actually pay to see it.
