Banishment

Relating to another topic that was locked, just looking for some info on the entire shards opinion on this.
Personally I don't think this should be used as a pvp rite, and at the minute it is and its rather lame and annoying.
To get a decent fight these days it takes alot of preparation, finding/starting a fight for a start, and then waiting for everyone to arrive and then furthermore to bless up on both sides. Then some a$$holes cast banishment a few times, and the fight is alot of the time over.
What does everyone else think?

+1 Though I voted remove. People have and always will use Banishment only to annoy. Not to punish, etc. We don't need rites to annoy imo.

It is only a strategic move in battle. As Law may have to fight multiple robbers at once we sometimes need to avoid necromancers or big baba. So I say it is only one more tool when lots of robbers and not so many law. A good necromancer casting kill is kinda hard to face anyway. As i wont even have the time to touch him with my scepter next thing i see im getting looted

It's possible the rite will be revised when we get to basic rites. It won't be removed, but it can be made a defensive rite. The rite isn't implemented for attacking purposes.

14 votes for changing it, 13 to keep it the same as it is. Guessing when the votes are almost 50/50 that alot of people don't have a problem with it or don't have any experience being on the receiving end of it.
I still think it needs tweaking, at least the locations you get sent to - dagger isle beside a white drag and that small island beside the shrine at yew that has drake/plague/daemon at least need changed. Squelch time also could be tweaked.
Noted boris - look forward to seeing it revised along with the rest of the rites

You should add the option "Don't care". Even if those who don't care can leave unvoted, it would be nice to know how many really don't even care which way it is.
I myself don't care as long as it's not abused: Such as banish someone, then check the "banishment locations" with a gater and then kill the guy there.
So banishing someone away is alright, but banishing someone away and then go after him and kill him is not alright.

I would rather see it removed.

I'd rather keep it but restrict its use in pvp

Perhaps there could be a piety factor in the rite, i.e. you can't banish players with the same or more piety?

That would atleast be something but won't protect non-piety characters at all :\
