Hello, my friend.
As you know, I never lived the way of the priest, or the way of the monk. I never used a tome for that matter.
But I do have great and ancient knowledge of music, and I believe this has granted me access to views of the delicate balance of life, perhaps views that are not accessible in other ways.
You are, of course, aware of these past events with our Order and the Order of Law.
Surely, if we are correct as I believe we are, we must destroy whatever is corrupted. For what matters now, this means necromancers. But have they hopelessly gone that way? There have been, throughout the time, men and women who have unfortunately gone this path. But they have also came from this path.
Perhaps this means a new option is presented to us? We, indeed, have to destroy whatever is corrupt. But is there something left behind when one follows the way of the dead? Surely, if such men and women turned from that path, it means their whole being was not corrupted. Somewhere, a part, even if a very fragile part is still in them, waiting to be reawakened.
Then, we need not destroy the entire being, but merely convert them back to life?
I trust you will pray on this matter. Spend time at the temple praying to Gaea so she may tell you what to do.
I am a humble servant, so I must think, what if I am wrong?
If, indeed, I am wrong, we have no other option but to kill necromancers. Or atleast, by our own ways, we have no other option but to kill them. We, apparently, cannot bear this form of corruption. But can Gaea?
On a matter following this one. What about the logic of the Order of Law? They protect necromancers, if they have not harmed people. Right this moment, an incredible though strikes me. Maybe they trust good will win against evil, even in these men and women? Or that, however hard and strange it may sound, a very small part of them may choose to do good?
If all of this is wrong, these man are still not necromancers. If they are wrong in protecting them, it is not as bad as being a necromancer.
Isn't killing them a sign that a small part of us is corrupted too?
Before writing this letter I stated publicly that Gaea is peaceful, but not passive. And I continue to affirm that.
We cannot be passive. For that, we must fight. But does it mean we have to kill? Is our fight a fight with weapons? Is it rightful to kill a person, before we know it is a hopeless case? To destroy the hope of a possible conversion to Gaea? If necromancers are truly dead, aren't they dead already before we "kill" them? Our only concern should be that they persuade others to follow them.
My heart is troubled. You cannot understand what comes to me through music, and I cannot understand what comes to you through your own way of life. But you are my Head Priest and I trust you.
Please answer me as soon as possible.
