The scroll

Post by Palma »

Lila is studying at Abbey's library, discussing with another member of the Order a few topics of the matter.
"I'm pretty sure Gaea did not say that... you are reading it wrong!" Lila confirms
"Damn you Lila, I'm tired of studying with you. You think everyone is stupid? The fight was over, Gaea had won. It's the whole reason why the staff at our altar exists!"
"Read this line here." Lila points at the book
"No! I'm out of here. I'm going to breath some fresh air."

After finishing reading that page, Lila closes the book "Damn it. I hate to argue. But this is pretty clear!"
She stands up and walks towards the shelf where the book was placed.
"Here you go book, back to where you belong" She looks at the gap between books where the book belonged to, and notices something behind the books.
She begins to remove the books trying to reach what's behind on that shelf. "A scroll? What's a scroll doing here behind these books"
The scroll seemed very old and dusty. She gently opens the scroll and tries to read. It seemed to be written in a very old dialect. She placed it on top of the table and reached for the languages shelf. After comparing the symbols she found the book needed to translate that scroll.

"Finally! After 6 hours I finally translated this!"

The scroll:
The times of peace we hold now, will not be ever lasting. My brothers do not see it. They are complaining and fighting against our current ways. But these ways were made to control peace. Things would not be, if these actions were not set in motion before. How blind can they be! History cannot be lost like this. They complain the tournaments should not exist. Should it not be for the tournaments, we would not be able to control the fightings done in these lands. Everyone would fight out of control, out of our control. I fear the worse. For centuries the Order of Nature has defended the lands, for Centuries our ways have kept Nature safe! Now these politicians and democrats come and speak of things they do not know.
I write this book so that whoever generation reads it. Should the time for you be of no peace, I'm sorry to say that our Order has failed. I could no longer contain stupidity away from our ranks. I hope you read this scroll and take deep in consideration the following instructions I leave to you.
Should the Tournament of Nature no longer exist, I wish to let you know that for many Centuries, the Tournament as well as many other events the Order of Nature used to weild, were one of the main reasons why everyone has lived in harmony for so many years.
People have the need to compete, it's in their very nature to fight, this must be taken in consideration. Should it not be for honor, it will be for blood and chaos.
As well as the Tournament, our other ways of...

"What? the scroll ends like this? There must be other pages!"

After searching for hours behind every book in the shelf, Lila sits in a chair "I wonder who this person was... what age was this written on? I must ask around if anyone knows anything about this"

No one, not even Zabren knew anything about this past. Daren said that whatever it was, it must of been a long time ago. As he was in Nature for a very long time now.

For many days the scroll plagued Lila's mind. Trying to make sense out of it.

For two months Lila planned and discussed with her superiors and friends. She made maps, she made rules, she made texts, she visited places...

"I believe we are ready. We will finally see whether it's true or not."

When Zabren saw Lila reading day by day, reading the Ancient Books of Nature's History he was figuring out that Lila had something on her mind about the scroll, so he stepped closer.

"Lila, how far are we with this? I think i know what i must do!" He flashes a smile at her and joins her preparations.

Lila looks at everyone around her, even though everyone was sweaty and tired of the days working under the sun, she could tell that they were happy with the work that was done.

"Hey Lila, is this what you pictured? Further more, have you seen the documentation that Raphael prepared for you?" Carlos asks with a smile

"It is absolutely perfect! Now we just need to see how it plays out. Do you think it will have many attendance? I hope I didn't cause all this fuss for nothing!" Lila replies looking worried

While Carlos smiles
Raphael replies "I'm sure it will Lila. Don't worry much, come, let's all dine and celebrate for the work well done!"
