Walking down the bridge to this new place, she smiled, taking in a deep breath of the salty bay area air.
This looks promising. She thought to herself. I wonder what kinds of trees grow here in this town.
She glanced in the direction of an old looking building, resembling a bank of some sort. Well, I must go see what this place is. She mumbled as she approached the older looking building.
She had been weary from traveling, and had hoped to find a new home to begin learning the trades of a carpenter. She had been to many places, but nothing quite like this place. She looked around, admiring the old, yet sturdy building.
New to these parts are you? She heard a voice say.
She turned around and nodded. What gave me away? She grinned.
Well, you're staring at this ol' bank like it's special, and no one stares at this ol' bank like that. The guard sat on the bench, drinking from a glass.
Aye, I take it this is a bank?
The guard nodded, The oldest bank in Britain. The first I might add. So what brings you to this place?
Well, I'm just trying to find a new place to settle and start learning a few skills.
Oh? Like what?
Well I am hoping to learn the trades of woodworking. You see my father studied many types of wood, and he was the greatest in his day. For a long while it was just him and I in this small town... until it was overrun by thieves... They took everything... including my father.
That is sad indeed. Well, I am sure this place will be a wonderful place for you to begin your new trade.
The young girl smiled at the guard. May I ask of your name?
Ahh, yes, Talia is my name. And your's?
Zilphia... Just Zilphia. Zilphia looked at the door to the bank. Now if you don't mind, I had better see about this bank.
Talia nodded. Good-luck Zilphia.
Zilphia touched the cold metal door ring, lifting it slightly, there was a creak, she could see the signs of weathering upon the bank's door, signs of rust on the bolts and rims.
She walked in to see a older woman standing there. What may I do for you, Miss?
I was just coming in to make an account with the bank. Zilphia said, smiling. You see, I am going to need to store my valuables while I go out and collect different types of woods for my training, and just want a place I know I may trust to hold a few special items for me.
Well, Miss, I am sure we can do that for you. The banker smiled. All we need to know is a few details and we shall have a chest for your items.
Zilphia nodded, giving the banker the information, and within minutes the banker returned with a dented, but rather secure looking chest. This will be your bank box, whenever you come in to the bank, you just need ask for it.
Zilphia thought to herself, Well, that doesn't seem so secure... She nodded to the banker. Well, for now, uh, I will hold these items, for I-uh, must go see a fellow who may help teach me the ways of a woodworker. Might you know anyone in town who can help?
The banker nodded. Ahh yes. I do indeed. The Saw Horse is located North of here. There are two chaps by the name of Cleveland and Adrian. Good friends of mine indeed. They can help you with whatever you need.
Thank you. I shall be on my way for now. Zilphia left the bank, and followed the road.. Which direction is North? She thought, letting out a sigh she looked at an old sign which pointed her in the right direction.
She began her training, in the hopes of becoming a great woodworker.
