Visual Guide to Tinkering

Post by Milkbags »

So no one at all asked me the other day, "Random Pangaea Player, I thought tinkers only made Jewels, Obsys, and Manastones?"

To which I replied, "Why not at all, theres actually quite a range of Items we can make out of mostly metal! Here I will show you

this convient collage which I have put together for your eyeballs."

***The Sextant currently has no function ingame.

All of the metal items can be made from ANY kind of ingot. Customized tools, Chests, keys, and so much more!
All of the Wooden items can ONLY be made from plain "logs".

After I finished making this list I immediately began questioning some of the items on it.

Dovetail Saw, Froe, Hammer, Inshave, and Scorp. All of these carpentry tools, yet they all open the same gump and do the exact
same thing. Is there some kind of use for these I should know about? Should I just keep one and throw the rest away?

The Tool Kit. For the life of me I cant figure out what if any purpose this item has! You can use it on anything to no avail.
There is no error message, or any kind of message at all. I was once told it took the place of needing all the other tools for
carpentry, Tinkering, or Smithing. Seeing as they do nothing special as well this item really has me stumped!

Butcher Knife, Cleaver, and Draw Knife. The butcher knife and cleaver as far as I know work just like a normal dagger. For cutting
up corpses, and fish into raw fishsteaks. The Draw Knife is yet another Hammer clone that produces the basic carpentry gump.

Spyglass. The single hardest item to make in tinkering. This one has the highest difficulty. Ive been trying to make one of Spirit
Stone for a long while now to no success at 108/108 skill. Also when you do make one out of iron, It has no purpose other than
looks and I want to make one that looks fancy!

Crystal Ball. This item seems to have no purpose although the error message implies someone can. "You dont know how to use this."

Jointing Plane and Moulding Plane. Two more hammer clones that open the carpentry gump.

The ones that are not pictured, Im not sure making a Skull is a tinker only thing. The preserved head looks like any old severed
head. The clock is a wall clock that does indeed work and tell the ingame time but you also make the frame with carpentry so its
not quite a pure tinker item. Since a carpenter also gets 85 tinkering he can make it as well. A sextant currently has no purpose
in game, it costs 0g to buy and it cant be sold. It used to tell the coordinates that UOAM displays in the upper corner [1 minutes 2
degrees North, 3 minutes 4 degrees East for example]

Although I had some idea's regarding some of these items, I've been building an alternate post regarding that... Coming Soon: The
Visual Idea Compendium!

*sigh*, if there ever was a reason for better crafting gumps...

30+ clicks to make some of that stuff, only 10 at a time.

Better crafting gumps please...
