I run 3d UO on a 800 mghz and an old 32 meg agp card with seemless lag.

Like I have said before and not to seem rude or cocky, but the speed of your comp really never was an issue with ultima. If your computer is that fast and cannot run the 3d client properly you were fed a line of crap about your comp not having a "dedicated" video. Meaning your faster computer is only utilizing an on bord video card device, which suck. Or it is improperly configured for proper perfromance.

I've configured it exactly the same way as the laptop is configured, down to the last setting, and even the same patch. I've turned off shadows and tree sway, turned on lower detailed objects, and shrunk the gameplay window down and resolution. Basically... IN order for me to run fast on my desktop on 3D, the game play window has to be this big..........

Anything higher than this I lag like crazy. Yet laptop is 800x600

Blame the user, not the computer.

Yep no idea why changing POLs can have such a negative effect on your UO experience.
