Everyone has different playing style, and I don't think we should judge people based on that. There are a lot of other online games where all you do is hunt monsters, gain exp, gain item, repeat. This is why hunting isn't really on top of my to do list. What's unique about this game is that there is life outside of hunting. This is why some people enjoyed playing merchants on this shard. What happens when you spend a lot of time playing merchant is that you are likely to have a lot of gold. This would, obviously allow you to buy more expensive houses. This is only natural. This is how some people play this game, and I don't think you can criticize them and say that they are stockpiling up houses and not playing the game only because they dont play the same way you do.
I think the issue was that there are certain houses that are of special interest and that it is annoying for one person to own all of them. This is why I suggested an alternative method to restrict the owning of those houses with special interest. Of course, this is only a suggestion, so if the scripting is too difficult, then it is probably not worth the effort. I just think that since we are a role playing shard, having characters in a poly household (where all characters live in the same house) would not make fit the roleplaying, and if we have the resources, we should change it.
I think Malas is very unique, and it is why I stuck around. I will be disappointed if it is removed.

There's always the option of co-owning and being listed as a friend. You don't literally have to own all your houses, as you can be a partner in a house. The options of more house value per account and less house value of houses is out of the picture, as they are (atleast in my eyes) rather high already. Changing the system is also a mess.
And what come to Malas, it's an awesome land with purpose and the amount of time spent to building is massive. But to be honest, we do have to start centering player activity. Especially with the current player base. Ofcourse optional ideas (to do the same) are always welcomed.
