Re: The new macrocheck rule
The thing is, macrochecks can appear even when you are not macroing unattended, or not even running uoloop or something, it can appear when you are hunting
If there is a few minute delay, it would be good, because if someone uses this to be safe while not being home or being afk for hours, then he's not near the pc, but if I'm here and the net crashes I can come back in few minutes, so that proves I was here all along? I think we should have some delay to be able to get our connection back and post in the forums or something, I don't know. Or if it's a GM, he could wait for a few minutes. Because really, I suppose those who use this program that closes uo instead of just ringing an alarm every 5 minutes or so are afk for hours and hours, and they won't come back if their net crashes.
Boris, I don't know how that script works, does it send you automatically to desktop or what?
If it works like that, is having an SS of your uo window with a macrocheck and that thing in the middle saying "connection lost" (which is what happens when you lose net connection) enough to prevent account deletion?
and to krondor
my problem was, what if my net crashes in those 5 minutes?

Re: The new macrocheck rule
Well i think changes are already made? Getting macrogumps every 5 min.
Re: The new macrocheck rule
I'm sure that is easy to make script to log your char back in after a certain amount of time.Glarundis wrote:...but if I'm here and the net crashes I can come back in few minutes, so that proves I was here all along?

well alexander
in the case of this being a gm macrocheck, as in him appearing next to your char, you couldn't script a conversation with him after you relogged could you?![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Re: The new macrocheck rule
A GM's macrocheck can mean two things, either the GM appears next to you and announces he is preforming a manual macrocheck, which I believe theyve stopped doing, atleast I havent seen it being done, or heard it being done.
The other is by the use of the .macrocheck command, which sends a normal macrocheck to your character.

Re: The new macrocheck rule
Well, I got a macrocheck while sparring with two others performed by Alteran last night. All I have to say is I wish every macrocheck has been that easy to read. Big bright numbers on a dark background instead of light small numbers on a light background. Sometimes it's hard for me to read them, so I take a screenshot of every macro check I get lol. My internet is crappy a lot of the time too and I can get disconnected at any point in the day, so I would sure hope it wasn't an auto-ban on account popping off. My internet can go out for hours too, so it's deffinately going to suck. Horrah for the most horrible internet provider in the world and before anyone says switch ISPs.. that'll only happen where I live if I want dial-up. Nobody else offers DSL or higher where I live, just my North Frontenac Telephone Company.
I don't afk macro either, ever. I'm too paranoid.
I won't even have a smoke in the car if we've got the kids since it's illegal and if a cop drives by us, huge fine. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: The new macrocheck rule
Again you speak of things you know absulotly nothing about.
The log off scribt i have seen , is quit simple , use a command .lastskill to see if the player is marcoing , then i appear and talk to the guy , run around the screan for 5 min yelling and saying things to the char, then i send a marco check and , and funny part is the char logs off answering wrong on the marco check after 2 min , and use the .lastskill one more time , now you say hey his computer chrashed , i did it to 3 differnt account , that night all the same results , so please count out the posiblities .
last time i banned 3 account , i let them back on , and what happens they used it again , i know what contry the involved players are from so i can take a quick guess if they are awake or not too.
The Gm made marco check will be more and i personaly will get up at 3 at night to test those that are on.

Re: The new macrocheck rule
im going to start playing again for abit and if i like it i might stay (not like anyone here cares anyway, im just here to troll you after all) however seeing as how the rules on macroing have changed would it be me being a bastard if i asked you to allow the use of macro alarms then?
most people who macro with the alarm on and aren't afk anyway its just that people have lives outside this game and getting high skill/stat level takes quite some time out of our lives especially if you plan on maxing out each and everyone of your characters.
as far as i'm concerned the only people who should be punished for afk macroing are those that just leave it macroing while they bugger off due to them having that visual basic auto macro check filling in thing
im not saying afk macroing should be allowed, all im saying is that we should be able to macro legally without having to minimize what ever it is we're fapping to every 5 mins because its is a HUGE buzzkill when your watching sasha grey one minuite and then a 2d knob head bending over for carrots on his own in a field in the middle of nowhere the next.....
*expects a stfu and gtfo reply*

Re: The new macrocheck rule
Hahaha ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
I had to laugh xD
Ok so
If the gm indeed comes and stays for a few time, I think I'm safe. Like you said, those who are asleep won't wake up.
But if I crash I can get back in some minutes and clear the situation.
Carlos, I'm pretty positive it's not allowed to have that terminate uo thing (or atleast it is not now) but it's allowed to have a macro alarm, one that rings every now and then. If you mean one that rings when a macrocheck appears but doesn't close uo (so it means you are at home and relatively close to the computer, maybe just watching tv), I think it was allowed back then, but I don't how it is now. Any GM can clarify?
Judging by your sasha grey comment and your avatar I think you won't have trouble staying in front of your pc![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
