3D will stay.
Looting stays as it is on Fellucca.
That's pretty much all I have to say. You can continue talking about whatever you wish - or just let this thread die.

Leather armor is best for sneaking, because it's literally made from hide.

Well sucks for Pangaea.
Re: Looting, once again
You can understand that as you like. Changes coming soon'ish, but that stuff will be informed in the future.

Re: Looting, once again
i haven't come back yet and don't know if i will come back or now, depends on a lot of things
i understand that it's f***ed up when you lose all your stuff, but if you don't, what's the point of playing a robber and why shouldn't everyone run around in their best armor?
i mean, like this, the shard just looks like pvm and pvp wars between guilds and religions without nothing to lose, so without anything to go for either. they look more like a fun tournament
losing everything is a pain, but i don't see the harm of looting weapons and armor.
from what i understand it's already legal to loot stuff like bandages, foci, potions, etc
if you could also loot weapons and armor it would mean there's a risk in running around in your best stuff
but since cloths are so valuable and hard to find, they should not be lootable
the rest is player made stuff, it's not bad if someone loots them, you can just buy it back
of course, the problem here is when you are hunting alone and 5-6 guys appear and dryloot you
sounds unfair and to me it totally sucks
but making that impossible just makes it so that one never loses.
you can only get better
you hunt, you get money, you buy better stuff, you hunt better stuff, you make more money and so on
there can never be a setback for you
also, the only player interaction becomes that of party hunting and merchant selling products
as much as anyone wants to feel safe when they are out there doing their thing, it destroys a lot of possibilities
robber characters are no more, which already kills the gameplay a lot
and wars
why would anyone war with anyone?the strong side has nothing to gain, and the weak side has nothing to lose
they'll only do it if they want to pvp a bit, but like i said, that feels like a tournament
even though you (as your char) may not like this or that person/guild, no matter what you do you'll move on with your life and he'll move on with his. you can't make it so that "his religion is in trouble and can't grow" which is want religions want to do to opposing religions.
rp'ing is of course what we want to do here, but you won't really harm anyone with it. they can just throw back at you "ahh you can't hurt me!" and even if you kill them 10 times they're as strong as they were before. lost their pride? they can make up some rp bullshit about that
in the end, the way you have to show your (military) power is to hurt the enemy's economy
my adivice would be to make it so that there's a risk, but make it so that the risk is not so very very high
it totally sucks when you lose tons of money in 10 minutes

Re: Looting, once again
I pretty much agree with Glarundis.
No-one likes to lose their stuff but does nobody here like to gamble? I didnt enjoy losing £50 at the casino but it was exciting knowing I had the chance to make £100's.Its not just about excitement though, looting and more specifically the loss of equipment, actually serves a great purpose to the shard.
1. People hunt more in order to regain what they have lost which has the knock-on effect of spreading gold around the economy when people eventually buy from merchants or other players.
2. It creates rivalries between players (which for some reason now is seen as a bad thing). It isnt, part of the fun is gaining revenge on your enemies. Ofcourse this can go too far as it has in the past but there are the "Asshole" rules in place to combat individuals that take the piss. Now the only rivalries are who's dick is bigger, who has the best cloth set, the best elite weapons and armours- kinda boring no?
3. Higher activity . Everyone likes to watch a fight- proven over the years when teks attack britain, there'd be loads of people running around just to see what was going on and sometimes would help to defend.
The only problem I see with reintroducing full looting is that argueably the best PvPers are red. Im not trying to insult anyone but I get the feeling the majority of those who dont want full looting is because they think they are going to come off much worse. I dont think this is necessarily the case- there are many good players in law and nature and also good fighters that are not in religions. Surely the fun part would be to band together against them and beat them at their own game?

Just come back to Pangaea, the drylooting and stuff will take care of itself.

In even numbers and with some tactics it's very even atm. However if somebody suicieds into a group of poeple and expect to live they shoulden't be suprised when they get killed .Masano wrote:The only problem I see with reintroducing full looting is that argueably the best PvPers are red. Aswell for the concerns that your gonna get ganked by a group of poeple when you hunt that's just not true. If we go back to the week where drylooting was allowed as a trial week, the only drylooting fights was reglions battling it out in the woods, becouse there is no reason as a tek to just charge into brit when you can actully lose your equipment.
Altho it dosen't matter since Boris stated drylooting wont happen either way.

Glarundis i used to be imp too, law now, you come back and join me okay acca might too he's playing again I think, and actually that's not a bad idea, maybe make drylooting besides cloths? They are hard to get yeh but also.. People shouldnt run around in indies unless they can afford to lose them. Simply don't be dumb. Play smart, it was good in the old days, again yeh people did band together to fight off the 'bad guy' it was great player interaction, same with manhunts and chasing robbers ect..
