i think we should start voting again if we want more people
we now have 20-40 when there's pvp going on and that's it.
we can't dream of 70+ like before, but we did have some 60's sometime after boris became admin
so we could get some players.

Doesn't work. Voting pulls maybe 1 player from another server. Word of mouth works better and lying, lying gets people here and then they figure out the truth (whatever that truth may be) after they're addicted.

I would like to think I have an awesome idea to increase the playerbase... but it would require some work from the players and the staff especially.
The idea is now that we live in a youtube world, to make a video that would show the current matters of affairs in our beloved shard... For example we could have a video of a meeting of all the imperials where they talk about why they have started to siege towns, a similar video of law meeting where they talk about how they must defend their towns at all costs and you get the drill. We could also make the staff make chars (if it is possible) that represent the gods and a talk between them (kind of like what you see in the war of the titans movie and such).
It´s just an idea but for old players to see a video like this and also new players that like UO and are looking for a shard, this could skyrocket the excitement for new players of wanting to join and to see what is happening. This could also apply for all the ig rp, for example the alliance between Lawture and Impstone could be thrown into a youtube movie, only use the ss that were taken of those meetings and add some text in between.

Yeah, this is a good start 
but to really excite people we would need ig stuff put out like this. I´d bet my job, playerbase would increase dramatically as soon as we would get those videos around!
Also we would only need one guy from each religion and maybe one from those big guilds to collect ss or arrange some meeting that people would attend to and record it. This isn´t hard if a few combine their efforts.
