ICQ and Pidgin passwords - a short guide

I thought for a while my ICQ would've been bruteforced by a skiddie ( see the "terminate uo" related thread / viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16967 ). Maybe, maybe not. Probably not, as the password hadn't been changed. Still, to be sure, I changed the password. ICQ, nowadays, requires a password of 8-16 characters which includes at least one number, at least one uppercase letter and at least one lowercase letter (I guess Aaaaaaa1 would be acceptable).

Okay, I'm compromising my security here!

We all hate the standard ICQ client, don't we? If you want to use Pidgin ( http://www.pidgin.im ) with ICQ, your password must be exactly 8 characters, because that's the minimum ICQ allows nowadays and the maximum Pidgin allows. This caused me some confusion but Google helped me - problem solved.
