The recent few weeks we as staff have had increasing number of complains of whatever fault you have encountered during PVP sessions by the opposite site - 95% of those between Imperials vs Telborea. Yes, some are legit and justified, but I have to emphasize that during my time as GM I have never seen this much hate between the players toward each other, so most of those complains comes when you're just looking for an opportunity to bust your opponent for breaking the rules.

Let me try to put this into perspective. PVP is part of the game, it should be fun. In the end its just you playing a role of someone which is based on fiction, against a fiction role who someone else have come up. I know its not 100% possible to ever think it like that when you're playing an mmorpg, but thats what you can aim for. The cheesy quote which would fit here is "don't hate the player, hate the game" .. if you really need to hate.

Everytime we are reported of illegal action, it takes at least 30 minutes to even few hours to solve that matter. To gather the screenshots, to interrogate both sides few times, because most of the times we hear two stories totally different from each other, and in the end have to make decision based on our gut feeling and hear how badly we do our job from that side which "looses". It takes few seconds for you report it but huge lot of time for us to handle it.

I'm not saying you should be afraid to report us of illegal action, not at all, but when it comes down to small details which doesn't really affect your gameplay but you know you could report for it and perhaps get punishment for your opponent, just forget those. Play fair, have fun, and give us more time to concetrate and advance on those issues which will make your gameplay better. Solve your issues, don't be pussies.

Also I'd like to add that if you don't get a hint from this post I made we can always change the looting rules so that you can't loot anything if it comes down to that - hope not.

I'd love our shard to have no rules in looting. Unfortunately, you (the players) can't handle it. We expanded the looting rules last July to three items. If you can't handle even them, you will never-ever handle clean looting either. The reason why this shard had gold&gems as legal looting for 3-4 years was due to one reason: less gain in looting = less trouble = less whine. Sure it came with the cost of killing the economy, but I do understand that decision by the previous staff. Looting equals whine. It's as simple as that.

Can you handle looting? If so, show me and show us.

I agree, but then again you all know that. It is quite difficult to have a two-way conversation when there is only one party contributing and the other party only points fingers and is not willing to believe or talk in a grown-up manner. Should place the blame where the blame belongs imo which is squarely on the shoulders of Telborean members. Imperial communicates with them, but most of the time all we get back is nonsense and childish rantings, not from all, but key people. My declaration of war post today was evidence of what I mean when Quintoz responded, maybe that is his RP though. This use of "generally" stating doesn't do a good job of fixing the problem. I'm all about working it out on our own without GM intervention. I always have been. If we don't start calling people out, the behavior will continue.

I don't hate them, I actually speak with them quite often, but that doesn't mean I approve of log camping I just know robber rules are not clear on all aspects and that abusers wil allways abuse a loophole.

I've had the same situation on viven, didn't report because there's no rule saying if you log and your in your house. you have x minuites to lock or before you can be attacked in there. they changed my ostard name too IDONTRP or somat because I done my 2d run tatic on them as they rushed my home when I logged, perfectly within the rules also yet is throwned upon (run tatic is legal not the name change that's illegal but I lol'd as I was 5 tiles away from teleporter on 2d vs 3d)

I also agree with tyrion here some key members are decent people you can discuss a matter others don't even bother with and have all posts under block on here cause they just act a fool.

This hate has existed for many years, among several players. Too bad some people can not keep a distance between the game and real life.

And to emphasize that, we can see almost everydays, little things that are spoken here in the forum that feed and create these problems. We should have more attention to conversations, and even sarcasm and irony that characterizes this very forum.


One idea was to arrange some sort of guild or entity that could solve some of these problems IG... (at least the simplest... something like conflict mediators).
