LAG question

Well, maybe, 1 or 2 years ago, before GM Dom, (or should be 3?) has been banned from shard, I had not problems with LAG. had not only, one sec spike, but now, I almost can not play anymore, cuz i got so much lag and can't join on pvp.
What's the difference of server from there to here? Changed to some another place?
Ps.: Even living in South America, I had not lag in that time, and now i repeat, I do so much =/
Will the server remain as is, or are working to change to better?

ps.: Sorry for the english

My guess is that one of the jumps that you make before reaching the shard has packet loss. Could be fixed by either you moving or the shard moving.

Do a traceroute to see if the lag is your client or the connection to the server.

Was a lot of bad server lag today for some, not a good time to test it.

You're not alone, Mandos. When I first came to Pangaea, which was back during beta phase, I never had any lag. Now it seems ... the only option for me to play somewhat happily, I mean ... no lag, is by using 3D. Despite how much I dislike using it, I will from time to time. I prefer and always will prefer the original graphic of Ultima. I guess I just have too many good memories playing on it, I don't want to let it go. It was the "UO" I grew up on and played for many many years. Plus as mentioned - 3D looks hideos! However, I've tested on some other servers hosted across the pond from me and they seemed fine. It just seems to be playing on Pangaea I lag on a horse. D: Which I've often thought maybe I should just play merchant rolls anymore lol.

I too once get lag within each city on the map. today, anywhere in the map I'm suffering with this damn lag.
The question is: exist some way to I fix it?

It is an issue I have been attempting to gather attention for, for quite some time. As the player-base steadily grows, the support structure needs to become more robust to sustain the growth. I don't want to get into a blame game like I did in previous posts, I was wrong for doing that and I'm sure Irming does everything he can to keep the Pangaea project running and I am really grateful. With that being said, I would still like to see some direction for improving our hardware / software for hosting the server. As I have made mention to before, we can host a fund drive or pledge-a-thon to get the money needed and I'm sure people would get behind that, but we need some type of definition for improvement. Is getting new hardware / software the answer, is updating the ISP connection service for the server required, etc. .
