This is not to deal with the original threads topic but more to address a larger point.

Staff that gets satisfaction from punishing their player base and then on top of that publicly makes this kind of statement?

Not only is this uncalled for, this goes to a deeper problem.

I mean, ok, if you feel this way, fine. But to publicly admit such a thing says there is something wrong.

I wonder how the public would feel if law enforcement officials made a statement along these lines?

New players come to look at the boards and see that the staff gets 'pleasure' from punishing their player base?

This is unacceptable and I hope that something was said behind the scenes to address this.

Agreed. Sometimes I feel like staff is picked from 4chan. They either pick one pointless point from a thread and keep bashing it or turn the thread into complete trolling - Therefore its really hard to have a proper conversation about current situation of shard etc. Without this conversation its hard to see shard develop into better, but I guess they don't want to have players in that discussion and keep the all power at themselves.

I know its a game and its 'the internet', but in position like that you should upkeep atleast some dignity and represent the title and shard well.

Yea, no, I read the entire thread. When I read that statement, I was taken aback. There was a conversation that was happening. If the staff didnt agree, fine, state that and lock the thread.

But that isnt what happened.

Instead, a staff member made the shard and its staff look like assholes and it was out of line.

Ive seen it happen time and time again, specifically with this particular staff member and this was over the line.

To be honest when I read it I thought exactly like you. Although the comment annoyed me a lot I wasn't really shocked about it myself, because I know Boris was joking, but our new players do not.

The staff should always show example and act mature no matter how stupid ideas we players make.

Sarcasm and trolling are fine every now and then to keep the atmosphere from going too serious, to fool around, but some people sometimes indeed seem to enjoy and do it a bit too much

totally taken out of context as aileth said. The idea wasnt that smart if your caught unattended macroing you loose that skill and stats associated with it... this should never be changed heighten or not.

His the most active feedbacker via forums i have ever seen from a gm, i dont suggest icq chat though he will own you unless its a matter of concern of the shard.
