Timewarp Discussion

First of all, I respect the GM's/Boris/Irming/Neon and everything they do for us. We're basically playing a free game that we all enjoy sometimes obsessively, and I understand that accidents do happen. This thread is for the future of Pangaea(not whines so GTFO), as I realize what happened in the past is just that.

With that being said, it's long overdue that players need to be reimbursed with the hours and time they put into training. With a handful of connection drops and now two big time warps within a 2 month period, we need to re-ensure new players their time invested in this shard is safe.

I propose that in the rare of event of a time warp, if a time stamped screen shot of said gains within the allotted time frame that was lost is provided. Then the player should have sufficient evidence to retrieve the skill gains that he had previously lost, subsequently due to an unfortunate time warp.

Given the rare circumstances of yesterday where it took 15 hours before the shard could be restarted, I was able to conduct such a screen shot that would supply the proof needed.

This should be the template, showing the skill in action and the actual gain on the screen.

- Due to the "photo shop" argument we're bond to hear numerous times, a player should have no marks of abuse of any kind on his account. This is a special privilege only available to those who abide by the rules and thus have no reasoning to "cheat the system".

- No journal pictures, those can easily be from another period in time with the clock changed. If we're REAL attending macroers, then this shouldn't be a problem to catch a gain.

- Only time warps of 5+ hours should even be considered.

More ideas welcomed.

The whole aspect of, if it's given to one, it's given to all is certainly fair argument, but shouldn't the ones who play by the book be given a chance to provide evidence? Those who don't have the time to macro all day would be severely disheartened to play again with this previous time warp. I look at this as a much needed addition to Pangaea, to backup a player's progression. Taking away skills gains and acting like "it's apart of the game" doesn't make it right IMO.

We have decided a global way for compensation.

There could an instant warning gump made by the GM's appeared to warn the playerbase to not gain in skills/enter dungeons.

Other than that, i dont think any GM will belive there will be any proof for skill loss unless there is a tool made from the server side to save the last skillgains within the X period of time where the timewarp may come across.

Or, before closing the shard to make the timewarp happen, a tool from the GM side is the best option imo.

For the sake of skills etc (assuming the warp isn't more than a day), for something that happens on average once every 3-6 months - who really cares?
I lost 5str i trained last night, it's not the end of the world.
Lost all my clothes and shit sparring when the server stayed running and connection was lost when irmings internet connection was moved over, was a bit pissed at the time but within a week had gathered some new shit together.

What i'm getting at is, get over it and move on considering it doesn't happen often.
