Hey guys and girls...

I need your help to try out the server from my place, on a much much better internet connection. So please try the old server out now.

Change the IP adress in your login.cfg file to : 89.239.201.147,5003

The server is running on some older data files, and any changes made on this "test setup", will not be saved permanently, as the data will be deleted at some point. The server is running 24/7 for a period of 10-14 days or so. Please test it out, and write feedback here on how it is COMPARED TO THE DEDICATED SERVER RUNNING NOW..... Any other info is irrevelant for this topic.

I'm guessing it comes down to how it works out for the americans if their lag free or not, will be interesting to see te feedback indeed

For me I found the dedicated server is still faster.

I found dedicated server to be faster still. Although my internet was being retarted today and lagging out or random d/c'ing. So I'll give it another test when the net is perfect. Even still, was faster on dedicated with all this.

You could also post traceroutes and we could compare them. Is the difference 10ms, 20ms, 30ms or more?

I'd be able to conduct a similar worldwide latency check as for the dedicated, but this server is dropping ping requests.

Outcome is still having terrible horse lag in 2D on Irming's connection. I don't play in 3D... so didn't do any testing with it. Running smooth as a babies bottom with horse on Dedicated server.

Use POLL and let it run a while just to see average MS etc.

My ms is about the same. Dedicated got alittle better.

Here we go again, doing the POLL. I'm not used to this Trace Route stuff.

The thing is. The connection the server is running at now (the original server) is at a friends place. He has a 50Mbit/50Mbit fibernet connection. He offered we can run the server from his place, paying only for the electric bill (roughly 17-20€ a month). Further more, I can upgrade the server to much better hardware than currently running. So if it is just comparable to the dedicated server, its absolutely a much cheaper way of running the server. But i think we will test it out for a month or so, when the dedicated server test ends. This gives me some time to upgrade the server.
