Like Andoriel mentioned already, these tests are just different variations of Briggs-Myers Personality Type tests. College students and employees in major corporations often take these tests to indicate learning styles and working methods. From a scientific perspective, they are not really accurate, but rather indicate a general disposition towards something.

However, neuropsychology goes deeper into the brain and identifies different cognitive functions (skillsets of the brain), and there's a correlation between personality types and a person's preference for using different cognitive functions. So it's possible to officially categorize people based on what their dominant cognitive functions are and to some extent predict behavior of others.
