i'm portuguese, yes.
the problem with the portuguese team isn't the quality of the players. imo they're there with the best of the best.
the problem is that they all play in different leagues and clubs.
i think maybe now they're more as a team because a majority of team played and were formed in sporting cp (my team!!!!YEAH!!!!how many are there from benfica my dear friend gutian?only coentrao!)
and of course, we lack the striker. with a good striker, i wouldn't have problem saying we are as good as germany or spain. and no, not just because i'm portuguese, it'd be a fact.

now let's look at the other countries' teams.
italy (they play in italy, many from juventus)
germany (they play in germany)
spain (they're all from real madrid and barcelona, those are spanish teams. no wonder they're so good as a team. now it's tied between real madrid and barcelona, but in the world cup it was just like barcelona team with like, 2 or 3 real madrid players))

these things help greatly when playing a euro or world cup, and that's something that unfortunately portugal doesn't have. because portugal is a poor country, and all our best players are bought by richer (read non-portuguese) teams.

too bad euro was at this time, this is when i have exams. i studied like shit for my guitar exam...because all i can do is wait for the next match.
