Well, if you ask me i dont really understand why are the blizzard dudes concentrating mainly on the magicuser classes. Only potential with no magic(talking of spells and stuff alike) abilities is the Barbarian.

So, basically if you want to meelee, pick a barb. Rest are kinda...Long ranged squishies :/
not quite right in my opinion. The monk is a close combat dude, with a few healing / boosting options.

Irming don't try talking sense into him. In his mind it's "Monks on Pang are casters therefor the Monk in ALL other games are casters - It's Pang bro"

Barbarian, like in Diablo 2 LoD and Dungeon Siege 2.
Dunno, but so much time passed to release this game and... my first impression is this game it's not height of Dibalo2. I hope i'm wrong.
Waiting ps3 version.

Maybe a wizard for me since my fav char was the sorc dunno what kind of mix it is going to be tho...

Demon Hunter or Wizard. I always rolled a "Poisonmancer" in the past. Didn't favor much of the other classes as much, but I did start playing a sorceress my last go.

Yeah, Monk's are close-combat in diablo 3 but his combat arts are based on mostly magic. Monk sounds interesting due to the challenge. Well if it would be challenge i was looking for i'd pick the Monk. Barb's just weak against magic.
