We'll put enigmas, riddles, things for ppl to find out and then we give the answer (or let someone guess it) some hours/days/whatever later, with bold letters saying "ANSWER TO X RIDDLE" or whatever

I'll start with some.

1st riddle - "Which way to go?"

You're headed for destination x (doesn't matter), and you come to a bifurcation. There are no signs, nothing to tell you which way to go. However, there are two men there who know the way. One who always says the truth, and one who always lies. You don't know which one of them says the truth and which one lies, and you can only ask one question (not one to each, one in total). How can you figure out which way to go?


2nd riddle - "Cigarrette!Non?"

Ok so, you're a bum, very skilled one and you can make one cigarette out of 3 small bits (don't know the word, but it is whatever name you call to the small cigar you get in the end).
You find 10 of those, so how many cigarettes can you smoke?


3rd riddle - "Rings"

You have 9 rings, and a two plated weighing scale.
All of them weigh the same, except one of them which is lighter (or heavier, doesn't matter, the point is, it doesn't weigh the same)

What is the least number of times you have to weigh to see which of the rings is different?


4th riddle - "Lamps"

You're in a room with 3 switches. Next to your room there's another one with 3 lamps. You can only go there once. How do you know which switches turn on/off which lamps?

ANSWER TO ALL RIDDLES

1. Which way will the other guy tell me to go? The one telling the truth will answer the wrong way, and the one lying must lie and therefore also answer the wrong way. You take the opposite path yourself.

2. Three? However, if after smoking one cigarette you're left with one cigarette butt, you can then use those to make one more to total of 4... and still have two cigarette butts left.

3. Two. First three and three. If equal, try one and one from the remaining three. If equal it's the one left over. If the first three are unequal, take two of the three rings that were lighter and check those again. If equal, it's the one left over.

4. Turn one on and wait for a while. Switch it off and turn another one on. Go to the room and check which lamp is warm - the first switch -, on - the second switch -, and cold - the third switch.

You are correct on 1,3 and 4.

Here's number 2.

Indeed, after smoking one cigarette you are left with one cigarette butt.

So, from 10 cigarette you smoke 3, and have a butt. You get in the end 4 butts and 3 cigarettes smoked.
Now you can smoke another one stay with one butt + the one you get from this cigarette = 2 butts. 4 cigarettes smoked.

Is it the end? No

You go ask someone else for a butt, smoke a fifth cigarette and give back the cigarette butt you just got haha.

You may be a bum, but you have standards!

You should of given more info for the second one. First that you get one butt back after smoking and that you can "loan" more. :p

well if there are butts in the first place, they had to come from cigarettes.the final part is of course meant to be a secret, that's the funny part
