Everything except Giants, Voids, Balrons, Lotas and dragons can be tanked with Longsword and shield and longsword has huge dps. I would take that and a real archer instead of a hybrid noob =).

Tanking even shabooli drifter is sometimes impossible. I still prefer 1h hunting, becouse trying to tank is so fun way to play, even with price of easily damaged armors

Join nature with Knight, get 30/40 piety, cast that new elemental aura? Might work.


I think Quintoz is partly right, Ranger is a kind of hybrid char that does not excel in either PvP or PvM but that doesnt mean they cant be good. A knight would be better for PvP and an Archer better for bows and PvM...but that doesnt mean that Ranger isnt decent on both those fronts.
Like Boris mentioned Ranger also gets some useful skills such as 85 hiding, GM tracking, 85 animal lore, 40 poisoning. Its skills like those that is why I like my Ranger, it has great versatility and you can play in many different styles.

Being decent all around isen't a reason to bring a ranger over a knight or an archer or both. The current ranger is like the Tekstone tome it's suppose to be decent in terms of Pvp / PvM and have some RP value but the end result is that it's shit when compared to one that is focused in one area. Some call it "Intresting" the rest of us calls it shit - I feel the same about rangers.

I like the ranger class but using archery with 85 tactics isnt the best. Ive found it almost easier to fight lots of mobs with just sms then archery because the dmg is alot lower or so it seems with 85 tactics. Lets give rangers 100 tactics

In my ears ranger sounds great.

-You can have GM swords like knight.
-You can use bows; means you can solo giants easily
-You can use dragons to aid you
-You can use full platesuit as knight to obtain good AR
-You can poison your weapon

Cant say what it is in reality, becouse never plaid one.

Delete your archer? while can rejoin class and have 100 archer and other 85 tactics,85 healing. Anyway i dont know if your archer were any good.
