Sounds nice idea. Who crafts the tool and is it lootable?

Can't really go that far yet. If there's a book, it'll be done through the book. If there is no book, a sharpening stone will be a craftable, lootable item.

Leather armor is best for sneaking, because it's literally made from hide.

Whetstone seems to be more RP than a book.
