What is the point of even considering that then?!

You boost the prices but also boost the income, which in turn means that no change was made! YAY for all the trouble you had to achieve nothing at all...

Look, I think this thread made it clear so far that regular items value is dictated by the vendor price list. Economy isnt as dead as it used to be (due to items wipes and whatnot), but we're heading that way again!
Raising the NPCs prices will not only help drain gold from the economy (as does the house tax and other mechanism), but it will also make the gold go around more often because items like brimstones, blood vials, feathers (you get the point now) will be worth more, and these items are usually (notice the keyword USUALLY) collected by those who dont really have millions stacking up in bank.

Ive seen a few topic it dies as soon as it reaches near a vendor set price for things as simple as ginseng.

If a person has took the time and effort to collect a large ammount, the price goes up not down, if that was the case business irl wouldnt work you cant sell a car for less that it costs in material, labour, time spent to create.

This would mean you loose money when the product is sold.... funny that its the opposite ig on pang!

Maybe vendors should be decreased or quantity lower each sells.
Um... when demands go up the prices go up becouse people are willing to pay more, as demand goes down so does the prices. So if you have 1000 of something and the whole shard needs 500 then obviously the price wont go up.

The market lives just like in real life. If this is a bad time to sell, don't sell. When the market's hot, make another sale.

The house taxing feature isn't currently working. If it worked, you wouldn't be proposing increasing vendor prices considering how much of a pain it already is creating things such as deadly poisons.

The main reason why I personally am not buying things on the forums right now is because I'm low on gold- nothing to do with players charging as much if not more than NPC vendors on some items.

Demand only effects if it sells or not. Vendors dont change a price just because they are at full stock you pay a set price. But if a player sells an item it must be cheaper even if you are selling.more than a vendor.... makes no sense.

Are they too accessable? Are there too many vendors for player base? Are vendors to cheap to buy from? Are the respawn timers on vendors too short? Are items vendors sell in too much qauntity?

Its simple, usually its cheaper because lets say someone cleans a vendor for all of the fertile dirt he has every time it respawns, in this case yes the item is going to be more, but only because eventually the items are going to get into a higher demand then people can find.. But if you are just collecting the items while hunting well then, its going to sell for less as the vendors are still a way to get these items.

So item vendors sell in too much volume for cheap. what would people say to getting them to sell less and mobs drop more?

They don't? 500 gold per wyrm heart, etc, still cheap for you? You should've made an alchemist a long time ago :O

Mobs dropping more would be nice, as for reg vendors- that one in Britain is just there to tease/piss people off. Better still, remove the reg vendors and make mobs drop the regs, it doesn't even make RP sense that a reg vendor sits in the middle of hostiles or on some hard-to-get-roof waiting for customers (unless I'm missing the plot somewhere). It's like a car salesman sitting on top of a remote mountain screaming "CARS FOR SALE", the most moronic sales techniqueever , I swear.

The greed of merchants these days is insane. I remember the days when Raven Darkblade had an active smith, all around awesome prices and good service.
