only reason taliors are not doing well is because they have to depend on alts or other hunters for the raw material. And the good materials are not your average newbie kills. Sooo we have to do discounts/freebees to "friends" in order to get those raw materials. Or Mule. Whichever.
Think about it if every hunter char in shard was able to mine snognaz would you be able to sell it at 60k?
Where do you get your bone/leather armor from?

Yeah, so it's reasonable to charge like 5k for a basic armor and 10k for a high tier armor if the bones are supplied. Tailors don't have to mine so naturally the profits will be low, but so is the time investment.Andoriel wrote:only reason taliors are not doing well is because they have to depend on alts or other hunters for the raw material. I can admit I'm part of the problem then, I should be charging people(many who answered on the first page) even if it's small sets of things they bring to me.
If we can set up some kind of price list, this would be good. Also a universal charge for switching slots for cloths. We should make this cost more since it's something special we do...
From now on consider me in the system, ladies and gents.

Re: Where do you get your bone/leather armor from?
There is no Tailor on the shard who would agree to 1 pricelist for all of us.
Including making stuff from own materials for % price of the whole set's price.
Altough, if anyone got any ideas - count me in.

Re: Where do you get your bone/leather armor from?
Tailors ruin the tailor market just like smiths ruin the high end ore market. Why pay top dollar for the best armour when you can hunt the materials yourself and get a friend to make it for free?
I always thought one possible radical way to try to solve it would be to make it much harder for the non-merchant players to obtain the materials but at the same time not completely lowering the bone amounts.
This could be that only tailors can get the max amount of hides and bones from a monsters corpse, anyoneelse would only be able to cut a much lower amount, i.e a tailor could get 10 bones from a phoenix but anyoneelse could only get 3-5. This would mean that it would be highly beneficial to take a tailor along on a hunt with you and either pay them for their services of getting more bones or giving them a share of the hunts loot.
Im sure alot of people would think this is just annoying but in a way thats the whole point to make it harder/more annoying to collect bones so that a tailors work is valued more.

Re: Where do you get your bone/leather armor from?
That is actually a really good idea... Skinning something sure as heck is not easy so a master should be able to get more.
And also i wouldn't say its people don't buy the high end armors, its more people usually don't want to sell them to you.

It'd boost tailors, yet nerf magicusers indirectly by making it way harder to get hides/bones for armour.Masano wrote:Im sure alot of people would think this is just annoying but in a way thats the whole point to make it harder/more annoying to collect bones so that a tailors work is valued more.

Ugh how fun is to run around with your tailor in khaldun. If you go at the beginning you will die to boredom. If you go at the end you will be killed by the spawned shit.
