Re: Grant full chains to barbarians?

I think players have missed some of our updates and fixes we've done to religions during the past years. What barbarians were back in 2002-2010 are not the same they're nowdays (2010>).

Players still may have the "2002-2010" image in their heads. When we restricted armament to religions - it impacted every class - but it had the most impact to barbarians. The reason why barbarians were so powerful, was simply because they could use a blessed weapon without being in a religion. Barbarians still are one-hitting trucks, but back then they're were one-hitting trucks without breaks. You could wield a 60p blessed weapon and receive 0 holy damage back (due to not being in a religion). That combination was horrific and that image still might be stuck in some players heads.

So do I think a chain tunic is a must to the class? No. Can it be added? Sure, it doesn't make that much of a difference. It gives more protection to the tunic and arms. That cuts 50% of your body. The rest 50% is still the same as before (= no changes). Nevertheless, a chain tunic is a boost and it surely would be the last one for a class that doesn't require boosting. This whole issue has no priority, as it's just fine-tuning of an existing class - and we have bigger issues to solve. In my books, this change is nothing else but a small nudge, that has no impact to the big picture.

I do remember how powerful it was to weild even a 50p blessed maul/gear - For example, 60p heighten priests of nature weren't doing much but once i hit them they changed their mind on approaching me again.

Same followed for PvM, 300+ to royal dragons was a bit of too much.
But what goes for Armament itself, the unbalanced thing would be "no dmg on successful hit" without Armament, which is still broken - Religious Barbarian or not, the 175 STR with a maul/hally combo will lose it's point when doing min dmg which is a big round number.

Fix those broken things, please.

Shut the hell up Z, you always go off-topic. This is about granting chains to barbarians, it is barely even a boost. Quit going off-topic. you know I rarely ever even say anything rude to you, so it must be true.

Make it 105 med for ringmail and 8 circles. Either cloth or 105 base. Ringmail must stay or the server is doomed.

Tailors need more market, not less.

As it is, only tunics and sleeves are used. The rest is already chain for barbarians.

well they ballanced no? hardest hitting but if you wants good ar you need bless or expensive ar, which is fair enough considering they hit hard, why have something that hits hard, 85 healing and has decent ar theres no balance it's just all around badass

Hardest hitting my ***, sucky armour only perk is high hitpoints and decent damage. Also current warrior is better than barbarian even after this change, not sure about ancient barbarian vs ancient warrior but i bet warrior will win even that one. Yes warrior would need some accessories to compensate his low healing, but in the end warrior comes out as more effective. And dont draw religions in this, those things are totaly different with their piety systems and so much better that you cant even compare them to non-religious stuff. (and as staff sais religious character should not be compared to non-religious)

Ah and i see you are quite new on pangaea or old returner so i bet you dont know all the lastest changes.

For your information Ivan, this new guys seems to know better than you. Barbarians are the hardest hitting melee class on PVP, out of any classes.
100 tactics, 175 base str, there's no better skills/stats for any other class out there, and armament/piety doesn't count in PVP when it comes to damage output (unless it's religion vs religion).
