Firstly, we have a solution to the cloak problem. We have an extra layer to use, so a quiver can be used at the same time with a cloak. Secondly, quivers will be crafted from wood - because the staff didn't agree to grant an extra hide effect slot to classes X and Y. Instead of optional - we can make them mandatory. They will be cheap to make, but they can really boost bowyer markets if they're mandatory. Keep that in mind.
Option 1) makes quivers optional, useful but mostly RP items.
Option 2) makes quivers mandatory.
Express yourselves.

Re: Quivers
So quivers have no other purpose than to either be mandatory or reduce weight?
So more work, more items without any "boost"? I think quiver should increase your attack speed due to the arrows being easily reachable.

Re: Quivers
Boost would go to bowyers apparently.
Re: Quivers
Other specs/boosts are a different issue and not made public.
Either of the 2 options should still apply.

Re: Quivers
Well Archers don't really need a boost, ya'know. We've been debating a lot of ideas. The main motivation is to get them introduced into the game as they look cool, and are a fitting RP item for a character with archery.Darian Darkmind wrote:So quivers have no other purpose than to either be mandatory or reduce weight?

If we could boost a struggeling class while doing it, all the better.
Re: Quivers
Why is this needed? Nothing wrong with how archery works atm. This would make things just more annoying, unless theres somekind of a boost to the classes using the quiver.
Re: Quivers
there probably is a boost in using quiver, boris said it was a different issue and not made public so we can never know other than test it when it comes. but i don't see the need for more archery boosts, especially in ranger and archer classes :S
i choose option B. wanna be mounted and use archery, use the quiver. imo this should be so that, either you shoot unmounted, or you get a quiver. and quivers wouldn't give any boosts. it would be either shoot while on foot, or buy a quiver and spend more money for your awesomeness

Re: Quivers
wheres option c... Rp use only to look cool...
1] add more weight to arrows... huh why?
2] cant shoot mounted... huh why?
why should two classes get a nerf if they dont want a quiver... surly it should remain optional if there's going to be no boost. Boris said it himself they will be cheap to make anyway so why not just add it as optional [c]

Re: Quivers
The weight difference wouldn't be big, making quivers optional. Meaning you can still do whatever without a quiver.

Re: Quivers
So basicly...
1) Needed only perhaps in big hunts (Doom, Khaldun, etc.) to create more capacity to your backpack. Since they're not needed much - or at all - they'll be more expensive.
2) Needed always. Really cheap.
