Hello citizens,
If you or anyone you know comes into contact with a Mr. Mervin Moondust - please be aware this man is likely a theif.
He was spotted making off with several piles of fish - a large bag of nets - and a rare war hammer from a boat in new haven.
I have tracked this man to his home in Britian - and I have found he associates with Law officers.
This is a serious matter - if I don't hear anything from you soon I will begin my manhunt and release the identity of the Law officers you associate with - and I assure you that you wont like the results.
You have been warned - nobody is above justice - friend of the Law or not.
-Ashely, New Haven Night Watchmen
P.S. And be warned all that who would pilfer in New Haven.... I hear the walls have eyes.

This is but slanderous poppycock.
I happened to stumble across a few fish... yes! However, a War Hammer, no.
I associate myself with nobody, no clan, no guild and definitely do not align myself with the Law! Lower your poisonous accusations towards the officers.
If the damn fish mean that much to you, you can have them back. However, I have already cut them. But as I said before, I saw and took nothing but the fish.

I have gathered statements from two separate people who witnessed this man making off from the scene of the crime. I will include them below:
"I had been near me home minding me business, dutifully choppin' wood for de coming winter when I had grown hungry for some fish. I left my boat parked just out of sight in de port near a nice grove of timber - when I come back to de boat I find two people gawkin' at her like she da finest boat they ever seen. One man say "nothing left!" and run away in a rush. He wear a shimmering red cape I remember it well. I find me tings missing from me hatch so I tell da guards"
- Sherman the Cook
Arriving on the scene I was greeted by a fellow citizen of New Haven, who corroborated the cook's story. She had witnessed the man fleeing the boat herself. Kassandra the bard immediately submitted to search and questioning as any innocent citizen would do. After confirming her innocence and frantically searching for potions of trueseeing I was able to track the man back to his home. I would like to thank her for her help in this matter - and in her help tracking the thief back to Britain.
You may reach Kassandra the bard or Sherman the cook at their New Haven homes for further questioning if you wish - but with two witnesses I'd say this is an open and shut case.
He has even admitted to stealing the fish in his recent reply... Am I to believe he would have taken the fish yet left the expensive war hammer? The cook says his boat was only unguarded for a matter of minutes...
I also take offense that you'd consider your theft such a trivial matter Mr. Moondust - perhaps you'd think differently if someone made your things disappear.
I await the reply of the Law and await some form of restitution from Mr. Moondust - I won't let this matter rest quietly as it seems you may like.
Let this be a lesson to all that crime doesn't pay - and the People of New Haven are protected.

Dear Miss Ashley of the Night "Watch", Watching being used in the loosest term.
First of all, yes I took the Raw Steaks if you don't want them back I will sell them... or eat them...
Yes, I entered the boat and! took the fish, chopped them up and stashed them away!
To say this is a matter over... fish YES! I would say that this is trivial and beyond pathetic.
Here's the kicker.... "An Expensive War Hammer went missing" Oh REALLLLLY? and I had a giant pile of gold in my bank box which just "Oh no...! Happened to go missing." Can you provide a receipt for purchase for the "Expensive War Hammer"? I'm guessing NOT my dear!
If anymore of my things were to go "missing" I would not even be here, as I have nothing except your delicious fishywishy's.
Now coming to the end of this letter, I have now decided that I will be keeping the fish steaks as compensation for your friends idiocy and for my time you have wasted making me write this. I mean come on! Who doesn't lock a door? This, I CAN ANSWER!! Someone who wants to lose Miss Ashley, someone who wants to lose!
So my message to you Miss Night Watch Ashley is this....
PROVE IT!
- Mervin

Interesting, I appreciate you bringing this matter to the forefront mister Ashley, you have done a superb service to not only those citizens of New Haven but to every city, township and borough. I appreciate as should everyone else, the warning which you have made public.
I find it interesting that this Mervin has decided to come clean about stealing the fish and sees it as a joke. Thievery is thievery in my book no matter the cost or pettiness of the item stolen. It sets a precedent that leads onto the thieving of bigger and more costly items, whether or not a rare hammer was stolen, thievery is thievery and should be punished. If you kill a man and say, "well he was a beggar", it makes no difference, a life was taken. If you steal a loaf of bread and say "well it was just bread", is it still not the act itself, the selfish act of bettering yourself at the cost of harming others either physically or mentally?
As far as I am concerned, Mervin, the proof is in the painting, you admitted to stealing fish and have proven that you show no remorse for your actions, is it not logical to believe that you also stole this rare war hammer? I believe it is and as such would not put it past a self confessed thief such as yourself to abscond with other items you readily saw within the vicinity of the fish. You have burgled someone's boat and should now be punished to the full extent of the law, whether it is mere fish or not.

I hoped we could settle this amicably... I am to meet with Law officer Percy shortly... However with your attitude I don't see this ending favorably for you.
Oh how easy it is for a child caught with his cookie in the candy jar to deflect accusations and throw a fit.
You'll be eating those words like you ate Mr. Sherman's fish.
Yours truly,
Mr. Ashley the Night Watch

I'd also like to mention that at least two homes have been robbed in New Haven recently...large numbers of hides were taken by some unscrupulous thieving sod! Someone kicked over my beehive too.
I bet this no good Mervin Moondust is to blame.
