Week of the crescent moon
Upon the eve of my recent promotion Raul explained to me that all council positions are filled, yet a more suitable role to a highly traveled man like myself was granted. I have been sent on my way too several locations in and out of the imperial empire to observe and record natural phenomenon that may relate to the physical and supernatural connection between Esuna and ourselves. Like many before me, my first destination is the imperial libraries situated within the temple of Imperial. I have been told to regularly send parchments back to Her vessel of my recordings via the vast fleet of imperial.
*Luke Azevedo reaches into his satchel pulling out a parchment with a fresh seal of Imperial overlapping an old seal, placing the closed parchment upon the libraries table in front of him. before unraveling it blowing off the accumulated dust.*
I have been given an parchment said to contain the information gathered by a previous brother made over 40 years previous of today's moon, I am now going to open the parchment and discover what exactly requires such a weathered traveler such as myself, to continue this quest of enlightenment to the masses.
*Upon cracking the seal recently embossed and still a little soft Luke recognizes the the handwriting without a shadow of a doubt to be his uncles Dalton Azevedo a renowned philosopher of the old temple back in Papua, he unravels the parchment fully totally engrossed on what his families legacy will be.*
*Luke ponders in thought of the contraption that sounds familiar to him yet not clear on what the letter is talking about luckily there is more than one parchment in the roll, holding his breath Luke reads on hoping to uncover more information but he sighs as he realizes it is a short letter and a list of some sort.*Dear Brother Brometheus,
I am as instructed recording my findings within my journal, I have arrived at the site in Moonglow town the townsfolk have been most generous in providing shelter and are as always happy to invite our brotherhood into their homes for mead and bread. The local tavern is awash with travelers and stories of discoveries of new islands and dangerous sea monsters which you shall be receiving shortly after this letter, but most importantly I have been told with the help of a bit of coin to loosen the tongue of a local that report of the great invention you had seen in your deep meditation, the local has described the device very similar to the one you had seen. Here are his exact words in describing it.
"It has a large bronze casing, and cogs similar to those found in a clock attached to which are painted bronze balls on rods that rotate around an orange mass."
Not only did he match the description he also told me he took a piece home with him which he values to much to sell at his stall, I have traveled to his home on the southern edge of the island to view said piece and acquired it, as I explained it to him it holds great importance to our order to acquire and return the contraption to its former glory. It does not look like much but the same can be said about the hand of a clock until it is in its complete state it is merely a slim strip of metal. But this is no slim piece of metal is weighs around the same as a infant and is a perfect sphere painted yellow with orange spots an an iron band encircling it. I have stored it in the Moonglow bank for safe keeping as I am now going to go in search of the contraption. The local who had stumbled across it has said he was out culling llamas for their hides somewhere on the island when he came across it as the island is of a large size it may take up to a week to find the exact location I will inform you upon finding the contraption for your viewing.
If needed the banker said he can store any letters received in the same condition they arrive in there if you feel the need to write back to me.
Hers always,
Dalton Azevedo.
I will spend the rest of my day searching the library for the copy that was commissioned for our order it has to be in the library somewhere, I will record any findings from the book in my next entry.Dear Brother Brometheus,
I have been out in the forests of Moonglow for 4 days and 4 nights my search has been cut short due to a infection to a cut but instead of letting progress stop I have approached a local scribe about the library of knowledge he has kept in the north, not to far away from the family lodgings i have been so kindly granted by the local townsfolk.
Within the library I have read and noted down the titles of books that are of great importance to the mission you have entrusted in me and the merchants of our glorious order, they are as follows.
The Tinkers Time Keeper.
Iron and Brass Metal Working.
Glass Polishing of Lenses.
Artists Impressions of the Wild.
But most importantly; The Star of Day. I have commissioned a copy for your purpose and hopefully you can shed a bit more light of the matter.
Hers Always,
Dalton Azevedo.
- Luke Azevedo.
*"The Star of Day..... The star of day. If I am to know what contraption my predecessors were searching for I must find the book my uncle came across" Luke mutters to himself. *
