Either way if its a boost its a boost, staff can decide what to do. If new ringmails would be better than current suit, who could actualy say a word against it. Current armours would be simply sold to someone who uses them. There aint that many active barbarian players that it would be a critical change.

I have a barbarian, so I voted yes (obiously :) ). He could use better AR, but even as it is now it's not so bad to complain about it. I think that more than AR, it sucks that it is combined armor type. I've never seen a decent barbarian suit for sale on the forum. I guess smiths don't want to waste their precious materials on barbarian suits, because it's very small market. So we're left with finding someone who has enough rare ores and willing to custom make the suit. Whereas full chain market is much better, because of high number of priests.

As for boosted ringmail, it would be better than now too. Smiths also probably wouldn't waste their ores to make full ringmails. But at least they're easier to make and less material is needed, so I guess they would charge less, than for a barbarian set. And less trained smiths might get more business this way also.

Clearly there's a positive effect to both lootpool and market. The more standardized sets, the better for all.

What comes to ringmails after that is a good question. Surely the STR requirements can be dropped - but besides that there could be some other use / gain in them. One option could be clearly dropping the ingot consumption.

And the other would be boosting ringmail to match or overgo bones?

Or perhaps dropping STR req. for ringmail and boosting STR req. for chainmail - giving ringmails more life cycle.

Maybe you should first try and play a barbarian and THEN talk.

44% of all incoming hits go to the body. Another 10'ish maybe to the arms. As chain tunics cover both of these parts, it'll help out with both. This means no changes to the remaining 50% (head, neck, hands, legs). So basically we're talking of more protection to the body and arms. Nothing else. It's not a big change and it's not a big deal.

This leaves ringmail useless? Give ringmails to casters.

80 meditation allows bone armors and 8th circle, why can't ringmail be the next level and circle 8 work at 100 or 90 meditation with ringmails? ALSO: there is no very big difference between bone and ring.

If you grant ringmails to casters, you can as well delete Tailor class while you're at it.
