The only safe place to log out is either an inn or a house (you own or are friended in).

If you log out somewhere else in the map, it will take 5 minutes. During that 5 minutes anything can happen (getting killed, being robbed, getting macro checked, etc.).

I know...
But the concept was "logout to make some cofee, login to continue".
My alchy was outside the healer cause alchemy is the first cause of death in UO.

edit: Aaand I got a skill loss... :(

Then remove "want". That's desire.

Shouldn't the macrocheck also check the last time you actually used the skill, so if you got the macrocheck while being offline, then ya probably weren't using alchemy anyway and thus shouldn't have got a skilldrop?

It says that I used the skill Taste ID 21 seconds before I got checked.
I guess I was checked some seconds after I logged off.
*shrugs*
Tough luck.
Next time I will logout inside the inn since this char is not friended in any house.

Soooo basically, if you should get internet connection problems while sparring with lizardmen etc in despise, you have a pretty good chance of getting your skill dropped for "afk-macroing"?

I actually thought that what counted were the 5 minutes during the macrocheck. If someone stops macroing for some reason (logout, lost connection, idle), can still lose skill if a macrocheck happens to pop up seconds/minutes after?

Well, as I said I got a macrocheck on my priest while running away from a phase spider...
I don't even know what the macrocheck assumed that I was macroying, I guess the last skill I used was magic resist, just before my char drop dead...
Maybe meditation? Since I start buffing things and me and then meditate to get my mana back before I try to fight something?
My alchy got macrochecked even when she is dead.
I should be punished by removing the ability to die!
.invul me please! :p

A macro check can come from any stat or skill used within 5 minutes. It can happen during PvM, even PvP.

Yes, but the skill drop should be related to the use of that specific stat/skill during the time the macrocheck is active, right?
