US folks could try out that and compare to Pang (93.186.196.107).

Affordable dedicated server in Amsterdam, that allows 1 month contracts.

More feedback's of course needed. The difference for Kevin was barely noticeable (89ms vs. 93ms).

Pang vs. Dam (based on avg)
  • Code: Select all

    Flo-rida: 116 vs. 103.2
    NY: 90.2 vs. 80.6
    Vancouver: 159.5 vs. 151.7
    Chicago: 104 vs. 100.8
    Dallas: 119 vs. 112.7
    Montreal. 90.2 vs. 84.1
    Phoenix: 164.1 vs. 135.6
    Seattle: 157.8 vs. 153.5
    LA: 158.2 vs. 152.8

Just as expected, in most cases we're talking of 10 here or 15 there. I doubt it'll make much of a difference. Perhaps a small plus for East Coast folks, but it's no cure for West Coast.

How much is the price difference between the one we're using now and that other one?

Pretty much the same. The one in Dam has weaker HW, but afaik, that doesn't matter much (how long world saves and booting takes?).
  • Pang:
    AMD X2 4850e with 2 x 2,5 GHz
    2 x 500 GB SATA II HDDs
    2 GB DDR2 RAM
    100 mbps Flatrate

    Dam:
    1x Intel Core Duo T2450
    1x160GB SATA2
    2 GB DDR2 RAM
    100Mbps Full-Duplex

we have 4 GB's of RAM currently, remember. We ran with 2 because of our hosts' fuckup for a while, and it was only just enough. We often reached 90-100% useage.

Currently we're using 60 GB's on backups and 30 GB's on the C drive where the shard is. I think 160 GB's is enough. For a long while at least.

100 mbps Flatrate
100Mbps Full-Duplex
What's the difference?

It seems like the Intel Core Duo T2450 cpu isn't fantastic? http://www.passmark.com/cpubenchmark/cp ... 40+2.00GHz
No idea.
