Accountability.

It's real simple, you have a choice on the deletion of your characters, we all know this and it's been said many times in this thread. As much as I would like every old and new player to return, we can't change an old policy when it was here for fairness.

In the great wipe of 08', everyone had to bite the bullet. So anything from here on out wouldn't necessarily be fair to all those who quit back then.

IF something must be done to progress Pangaea forward in some form, giving them characters with all skills at 65 would be fair. That's all though.

Yep I think some principles of accountability is important to keep regardless of the size of the playerbase. Trashing your items, deleting your characters, etc should all count into player responsibility and staff shouldn't obviously be responsible of those.

On a game like this where you can lose months of playtime in 10 seconds sometimes people are going to act irrationally- Not everybody has the presence of mind to take a break for a while and I dont believe they should be punished for that especially when we have people of all different ages and personalities here.

If that's the case, it's only good for them. They might even learn something from it.

Leather armor is best for sneaking, because it's literally made from hide.

Or they might never return. We're not lifecoaches here. We need to stay realistic. We have like 7 players online, and 3 requests for this a year. Even if that increases to 30, who cares. It's 2 minutes of work. This isn't a nazi regime, we're just a bunch of dudes hanging out together imo.

Rage quit, rage quit again, again and again. For our part it's restore, restore, restore and restore.

That doesn't make any sense either. People quit for many reasons. Got robbed, forgot to refresh a house, lost items in a dungeon, got sent to Wrong, missed a MC, sold indy tacs to a vendor, etc. There's no refund for them either. You just need to live with it - and hopefully learn something as well.

i think ares vision is a bit too relaxed, and i also think boris vision a bit too severe.

Maybe some kind of backup could be allowed players to have, that could be triggered at x weeks of gameplay, allowing you to store once in a life time, one charater at choice (without items). After that, everything becomes player responsability.

The middle golden road:
Basil Brotheamus wrote:1. Raise the timer to wipe accounts from characters/items at least to 5+ years
2. Make it clear for players that it will happen if they don't log to their accounts or if they delete the characters themself

There are those people who leave and slam the door closed while at it. Pangaea has always angered people till some extend for reason or another. Others might have to delete their characters because they might never leave unless they did, etc. Seen many different quit cases while on pang.

I think if the reasoning is good enough, your characters could be retrieved. Perhaps make it one time thing also.
Just sayin, perhaps once is enough? if it aint why put up with it then?

yeah, like I said, a timelimit between restores would be fair.
