It's not exhausting, but it's not healthy for the staff. This is a hobby, something we do for free time. When a hobby starts to feel like work, it's not good for anyone. By withdrawing myself, the young guns have free hands to do as they wish. I'm not saying it's worse, it may be better than ever.

I don't script and I can shoot ideas as a player. Me retiring isn't a loss, it's a win-win.

Hey Boris,

Even though players are quite the pain in the butt, we appreciate what you do and hope you'll reconsider! The shard is only as good as it's staff and we love you guys.

We don't want Boris to go, just be a little bit more flexible.. but if there's one thing I can say about Boris, it's that he's probably the most stubborn person I've ever met (for better and worse).

As for Boris' dramatic statements re: new order, etc., I don't think any of us "newbies" want to see any drastic changes from the core of Pangaea (and in fact Irming and Neon are always around to provide guidance/oversight to make sure things keep authentic). We're just open to question whether things "that have always been" continue to make sense (like the policy of banning a retired GM for a week for every month of service... or whatever it was). Us softies had to fight for Monad and Argon to get their bans reduced to one month (or whatever they ended up with).

We'll love to have Boris as a player if he ever retires, but we'll be sure to ban him for the full allotment, in his honour.

Pangaea will continue to be a tough, dangerous, roleplay world where gains are fought for, and GM behaviour is guided by rules and not individual whims.

And, just like Boris would do for anyone who makes a quit-post, we'll be sure to ban his account as soon as the outstanding projects are done.

Cheers to player-Boris 2015!

And seriously... if anyone is interested in becoming a GM... we're scared... when Boris is gone... where will all the player whine go?... dark times ahead for Ares, Kevin and I... dark times

Yeap, that's right. They're complete softies and players will bend them like a bow.

Nonetheless, there's nothing wrong in Dick's points. They have their pussy views and I'm always right (because lets face, I am). In any case, more staff is needed. Replacing my hours is impossible, but 33% of the man I am, is enough. Also our softies will need to double (if not triple) their hours to run this shard successfully.

Well maybe he had a point? Cause right now everyone is talking on how is it that Monad just left GM position mids April, and how he's already HP of a religion end of August.
How can you guys let such things happen? Can't you guess what harm stuff like that brings to the shard? How unhappy everyone will get? How it'll be a topic of behind your back talks? xD

In everything you argue vs players you find a middle term, maybe the middle term should of been not banning Monad so long, but at least make sure he doesn't rise to power of changing shit so badly in game? You would of done that to us players, give on one hand and take with the other lol.

Many players are afraid of the impact this will have, and this new topic, isn't really helping.
