Re: Movies we love thems!
Sorry Theordore, but this is just another fine example of Hollywood's and Disney's in particular amazing ability to ruin a perfectly good franchise by taking it too far. There is a whole slew of these ruined movie franchises in my eyes, it's unfortunate really. The minute something has bankability, the execs must try to cram down our throats as much of their tripe as they can.Theodore wrote:pirates of the carribean

you gotta make money while it's still on!Cyrus Tegyr wrote:The minute something has bankability, the execs must try to cram down our throats as much of their tripe as they can.
but yeah, sadly it's true, and many things have been ruined because of this attitude. the hobbit, wtf was that compared to lotr?..
but the same happens in music with some bands
Re: Movies we love thems!
The hobbit was simply just showing off how they could do 48fps lol.
No need for a real movie after they made billions off the original series.

Mmyeah, music gets recycled for money, same with movies.
Not much is actually original any more and lots of things get ruined because of that.

i loved the music for lotr, but the music for the hobbit was disappointing, it was just some of the same themes with a bit of a twist in melody or orchestration...bah. and i think that it was like this, probably not because of howard shore, but because they gave him such a deadline that he simply couldn't make new stuff, he didn't have enough timePercy wrote:music gets recycled for money
anyway, yesterday i still saw "the king's speech" (interesting story, and great performances) and "road to perdition" which was one more story like so many others. guy works in shady business. things turn out wrong, they kill wife and child, he goes on a killing spree and kills them all. same with "payback" and "max payne" and i wonder how many more

Hmm.. I guess that's where the creepyness peaked. Pretty decent movie none the less.
Re: Movies we love thems!
i am reading the book. its pretty good. i keep putting it down and doing something else then picking it back up. The movie was decent. Not like scary thought, just entertaining.
