we don't.
let me put it int terms of alchemy

if you have like 60% chance to make a potion at 110/110, with a bit more than 115 (heighten + EB) you go up some % points. but not that much, really

All calculations are linear, so basically 5% is just 5%. Minds are not blown.

If they are linear then 5% definitely is not just 5%. Slope is not excatly 1 at least for certain skills. Or are you telling me you have a 85% success rate for 8 circle spells with GM Magery, since the success rate for 8 circle spells is 100% with 115 Magery.

It's linear, each 5% increases by the same amount, but that 5% can be actually 20% success rate.

Yeap, generally referring to the curves (that were discussed in another thread).

Linear, as in the picture above. It's the same all the way, there's no huge increase every 1.0% (in the end) as people seem to assume. Otherwise if the skill req. is x and your skill is the same, the chance for success is 50/50. Everything above that just increases the chances 60/40, 70/30, etc.

If I remember correctly, the skill req. for 8th circle is actually closer to 100 than 80, so no.

So, based on that graphic, 105 (and consequently 115) in the quadratic graph is WAY better than the linear? Or does it change after 100?
