Looting scripts

Re: Looting scripts
Guys, like Boris says, this is all or nothing. I can't distinguish between script packets and player-action-packets. We know that the scripts will be used, and I'm actually ok with it.
What I'm not ok with are scripts that give you an unfair advantage. Say looting 10 items per second. So I'd make rules there. Say "you can use a looting script as long as you don't loot more than 1 item per second (or 2 items, whatever we agree on)".

Definitly paranoid...Darian Darkmind wrote:Actually we are still on the same square one as we are now. We've no solid way to determine who is using a script and who isn't. Re: Looting scripts
That's exactly what a person using the looting scripts would say.Biao wrote:Definitly paranoid...Darian Darkmind wrote:Actually we are still on the same square one as we are now. Re: Looting scripts
I would go for an all-out ban for looting scripts then. So some sort of system for detecting detect looting scripts and a radical punishment for using them would be best.

i see what you did there!Ares wrote:I agree. Magic is the best solution.
i would of course prefer to have them in pvm and not in pvp. if that's not an option, then ban everyone using one (the hard part will be, how do you detect it?). in pvp it simply can't be used and be fair. if you use it, even if it loots one item per second, you can still devote your full attention to everything that is going on and just need to sit still by the corpse. that itself is already an advantage

Re: Looting scripts
make a acommand. ie. .loot and it will loot items u have chosen to loot. could have target cursor so u can target what u want to loot in future or item groups, as gems, regs and so on.
set up would be done with command .lootsetup
just set the command not work on player corpses and we are over all the troubles. if the ingame looter is better then any looter script why would someone bother using one?
