.halt command is only an alternative. You can shout the same old "Halt!" to the victim and if he moves, you can attack.Bella Pious wrote:I think the rules mean to say you use your regular "Halt! This is a robbery!" first as usual. But if the victims should decide to run or pretend they did not hear, you use .halt command to indicate the time when they clearly received your intention. But the wait time before you can attack is 15 seconds after .halt.

Id set up the macro so that it says Halt, and also does the .halt command.
or just make it part of the .halt macro, but i think giving players the freedom to be creative with their halts is nice.
saying something like "halt" initiates the RP while the ".halt" makes it 100% sure that your victim got the message

Re: Discussions about the new PvP rules
Hmm ... then why don't they reinforce this dot command to a must?
(1) It clearly sets the time of the beginning of halt
(2) It makes sure the victim gets the intention
I thought it was so that there will be less confusion as usually after a PvP there are debates from both sides.
For attackers, it still gives you the choice to roleplay beyond the 15 second period the Victim is allowed. But at least both sides now know that safe period is over.

Re: Discussions about the new PvP rules
Having victim on the screen and "Halt" over your head is also 100% sure that the victim got the message. The .halt command only gives the victim time to run away, which makes it quite pointless, unless in a situation where you want to give the victim time to reconsider and stop to RP. It has a function but making it mandatory isn't a good idea.
Re: Discussions about the new PvP rules
I dont see a problem with the .halt yet and most likely after it has been made into proper form no one has anything to say against it.
Only one who sees it troublesome seems to be you Demian, cant you use target cursors or what?

Who said I see it as troublesome? I see it as pointless, unless in a situation where you want to give the victim time to reconsider, like I said above. Can't you read or what?Ivan wrote:I dont see a problem with the .halt yet and most likely after it has been made into proper form no one has anything to say against it.

All I was saying is that it's not mandatory, which some people thought it was.
Re: Discussions about the new PvP rules
It will be mandatory soon enough of course, and it should be quite honestly. Gone are the time of grief, loot hungry and "surprise" attacks. If we want to rob with religion characters or non-robbing guilds, which let's face it, is basically what's going on right now, then we will have to suffer the consequences.
I like the new implement, let's see how it works for a while.

Re: Discussions about the new PvP rules
No, we can't have the .halt command were the rule says you can't attack someone even if he runs away or whatever.
1. Halt Command
2. 15 Seconds without attacking
3. Itum Fanum Divinus/Recall
4. Safe in the base

Johnny, are you suffering amnesia or what?
(20:24:25) GM Ares: if he's recalling after you've clearly made your intentions clear, attack.

Re: Discussions about the new PvP rules
so what happens if we try to halt a group?
Example:
Ares is a robber and finds Iktomi and Dante.
Ares do .halt on iktomi.... Dante runs like a crazy chicken and Ares cant attack Dante cuz he has not been halted.
