And there should be a disloyalty thing like with the head priest vote, also for a mayor to kick someone out maybe it should require an agreement from a certain percentage of the tax payers in a town.

Mayors are there to do the bidding of the people who live in the town and make it grow not just there cause they want the title and are only going to do things their way imo.
well, you can still gather enought peeps, require meeting with head priest of religion which owns city and require to change mayor, basicaly if half town isn't happy with current mayor hp will have no choice but to drop him, or atleast thats how it should work :D

Yay was about to make a vicious assault on this idea of being able to kick people out of their house.

I am glad we have a wise mayor at Nujelm. He has always shown understanding on how important it is to make Nujelm a better community and how important it is to attract more people to move in. If I have a mayor like this and the town is suffering shortage, I would gladly donate, as I have seen donation made at Trinsic. Most towns that have shortage are not short by a lot/months so if the mayor has view for a longer plan of that town he can probably manage the donation himself.

Once the fund-transfer-between-towns idea is implemented, the Religion whose towns are suffering deficiency could start thinking of taking over other towns that are rich.

If he is flatout killed, does he drop the money he was transfering or it's lost forever?

Lost. I don't want a way to extract actual gold out of the townstones into a players pocket.

We've talked about making some item that non-religious dudes can use to highjack him and lead him to some other destination (neutral towns? Sell him to the highest bidder?)

Use graphics for a whip, rename it rope, use rope on target and recieve message 'You tie the gold carrier up and take him as prisoner'

He then follows you to a different town.

Catch - the religions get a 'X town gold carrier is under attack'

You can make a request to your local mayor to add one to his/her town.
