I wanted to turn most of the inn rooms at skara into vendor "houses". Would be more reasonable if city would hire a vendor and give it a room, instead of current giving complete house for them
This way houses could be deeded and at some point perhaps even remove the statics inside them. Not necessary to remove the statics instantly because people know what they get when they buy houses with static stuff in them.
But Ares had a reasonable argument against that. Ofcourse I was planning leaving few vendor houses example mage/alchy vendors deserve their own working spot, but some minor vendors could simply live in the inn rooms.

Well if mayors are going mad firing all the vendors, it could easily be taken care of and honestly might be worth thinking about, What if towns/cities (based on size of course) require a bare minimum of vendors? I mean from an RP standpoint it is silly for a majority of people to live in a town that offers no amenities. If you wanted to take this model a step further, you could just leave the system as is where mayors can go mad with firing everyone but the less amenities in a town the lower the house prices are thus the lower the housing taxes which in turn obviously means less revenue for the town. Obviously there would need to be safety catches placed to stop real estate price fixing by firing all the vendors and then placing a whole slew of new vendors but that could be a workable model, something I literally scrabbled together while I was typing this post . In short, house prices would now be based on their location vs some set tile by tile price we have now, if you set the current tile by tile as the default pricing before the amenities question is pushed into the equation you would have houses outside the town zone remaining the same as they are now and than houses within a town being lower if the town has been managed quite badly in terms of amenities or higher if the amenities are better.
Of course vendors should not be the only consideration, guards should also enter the equation, the better the protection, generally the nicer the houses with less Blue-collar crime.

Might be nice for us nooby blind players who dont look through the whole vendor selection before adding vendors if both red banker and normal banker were beside eachother in the menu and same for healers.

Or just remove the normal healers and bankers from the list as I am certain most people would prefer to place red healer and bankers anyways and can only think of one town where you might not want to do this.

*Bump*
When will we see the chapter II of the system? It's all fine and dandy being the sugardaddy of a town, but no fun comes from it.

Sadly, the real world has seemed to snatched up our little scripter and he is probably trying to battle his way out of the belly of the beast.Arden Darkfall wrote:*Bump*

I would like to see the other things the staff has in store for this and hope to see some of the suggestions taken to heart from the current mayors, being able to relocate vendors for instance.
