so, a talk about stamps has lead into this?
ok...
i'm quite sure that gay ppl don't "choose to be that way" but i'm also quite sure that they're not born that way.
just like heterossexuals are not born heterossexuals.
it's our development, combined with genetics/hormones/culture/social surroundings/behaviour/etc etc that will eventually make us be like this or like that.
so, we don't directly choose to be this or that way, but indirectly we choose a tiny tiny bit.
also, there are studies that even heterossexuals have once been homossexuals and bissexuals somewhere in their childhood. the "normal" course would be to develop into heterossexuality, but for some reason some ppl don't do this (i have no idea why).
however, some other studies show that the "normal" course would lead to bissexuality.
one thing is certain, while it certainly is wrong to be homophobic, i think homossexuals should be humble enough to understand that, atleast in a biological sense, their sexual orientation is a bit weird, i mean...the species can't reproduce like that
@ arden
i'm unaware if it mostly takes places in the womb, i'm betting it doesn't but that's because i prefer to think that society/behaviour/culture/whatever matters more than genetics in these issues (ppl are far too inclined to think that genetics control everything. it doesn't. bacteria in your body have more influence than genetics).
i do agree with the last part of what you said though. many (i think most) homossexuals are like us just the way you said. i think what pisses off the "homophobics" the most is the need to show off so much with things like "gay pride" and stuff like that. i may understand the fact that they've felt that they had to live in secret for so many years, but dammit, i don't go around shouting "straight pride!" either..
