An improved class system as well then? Similar to Seraph pang 2 class system they had been working on, I wonder if monad or argon have any of the files for that build, may be able to put them to use finally lol

Not sure what there was from Pang2, but we do have that code. And in terms of maxed out characters, we are trying to do things to account for the "maxed out character, nothing to do" factor.

Then maybe it would be a good idea to keep selected characters, For example: if the player is allowed one or two characters transferred over they would get to pick which. If they wanted the additional characters transferred they would pay to have them transferred like the character restoration policy that's in-place now. Obviously each player who wanted this done would receive a ticket number like our forgotten password system, that being said it would generate money to keep the server open.

Runuo is def. the way to go. not to mention of dealing with past scripters scripts that can be embedded into the core. Causing further issues if the scripter on staff now is not aware of this. Obviously causing more bugs.

Start off simple and add on, no reason to make it complex at first Im sure many of us will be excited to see pang on a different platform and be brought back to life once again. Make them excited to see new things implemented again as many of us have always returned to pang to see new things have been added.

The new Pol099 is nice as well and many of the older POL things transfer over with minimal coding involved. Runuo does have endless possibilities.

i would rather have a system without macro check, where skills are hard to gain, but you can gain them (you would train them) playing actively instead of afk (obviously if you're playing actively a macrocheck you wouldn't ever fail a macrocheck, but you get my point)

about the maxed out characters..i feel we have this need in our minds that we have to max out our chars, for some weird reason. most ppl nowadays just log in to raise their heighten skills and then log off. and for some reason, they will keep doing it until they reach ancient and then it's over. and maybe the difference isn't that big.

maybe relying on items and tricks and other things would make ppl less dependant on skills? (things like magic combos, melee book, etc)


i know we already have things besides skills (gear, potions, scrolls, wands, etc) but for some reason, ppl will still want that extra .1 in their skill

Dudes...we're pang! The shard most likely have died by now if it weren't for lots of players that make it always fun to return to pang shard, so let's be honest...what's makes pang be what it is, it's mostly us players with our own craziness and behaviors towards other players that makes this what it is.
Like it or not we're a family, with our differences and proximity, and we can take pang anywhere as long as we keep together pang spirit will be there with us, don't fear the change, i'm sure it will be good for all of us :D

Looking through this topic I get a feeling most people have a similar view, but for some reason we voted to keep chars rather then wipe them, I can't understand why.

We want to active playing to better then macroing, we want macroing to still be possible without macro checks but at a way reduced pace, making active play better for skill gains but macroing still possible.
We want new and fresh - wipe it and base the new shard of the ideals of Pangaea but not the exact samething.

Personally I'd also want to see the removal of all the instant travels. Make the gate spells less potent and make it so that if you want to hunt you have to go there and back afterwards rather then just gate to a dungeon, clear it, gate back. Would bring back the value of boats and increase the danger of hunting (both as the hunter and the robber). Add dynamic mob camps that spawn around the world (anyone remember the start of lorendia?)
