Your priest is already worth nilch, as it isn't used.

And your a dick, but I didn't say that aloud. Not much fun being in a religion no one really wants in ya know. Also I was agreeing with you, the playerbase definitely needs to be centered, sorry smiths, and only smiths.
How about shuting down malas and re-opening papua ? Is that possible? That would be nice, or placing Imperial at some island like Buc's Denn or something, Teks have their own isle, Nature has Yew and Law has Trinsic, i consider at least fair Imp have their own place too. I've allways loved Imperial as some of you may know, so i don't want to see them disapear! Back in the old days we rulled and powned all
As for miners, i know the staff in particular Boris (who is the only GM active atm) will take care of it, and we all can stay happy.
Keep up the good work

Ps. Kent, closing Imperial isn't something that we're forcing. We're simply asking Imperial's opinion on the matter. Replacing Imperial to Moonglow is no biggie. Infact it's one of the smallest problems.

Leather armor is best for sneaking, because it's literally made from hide.
Since this is a debate, I'll give my side of the argument.
All online games that I know of extend their life span by adding new elements into the game. Whenever the game stops updating, it starts dying. We have limited resource to expand and add new elements into this game, so that is where we lack. Though we may work around it (like the activities GM are trying to do put into the game), it does not make sense to remove elements from the game so that there is less to play in the game. Furthermore, Malas is one of our unique features. It should be our weapon to attract people into this shard. Removing it, we will lose what is special to us, and we will have lost our means to attract new players.
The only benefit, I heard, was to centralize the players to allow more interactions. Regarding this argument, I have to say that the effect will most likely be very limited. With the present number of players online, Britannia alone is too big. There are about 14 cities on Britannia. There are at most 11 players online lately. That is 0.78 player per city. If you include the 5 cities on Malas, there is about 0.58 players per city, just as bad as removing Malas. The only way to effectively centralize players is to limit all of the players in Britain. 11 players in one city are about enough to start some kind of role playing interaction. Why I say this is because you need be close enough to another player to actually "see" the player and allow any form of socializing. You can have 4 players, each at one corner of Britain, and they will be far enough to not be able to see another player. Therefore, you need one city to be properly populated for “centralizing players” to be effective.
Going to Malas is about as convenient as going to Jhelom. Anyone spreading to Malas is as likely to spread to other cities in Britannia if Malas is removed. Removing Malas, Britain will still remain as deserted as before.
I know a lot of people only see houses as a place to store things. There are people who enjoyed owning houses and decorating them. I, for one, am one of these people. I liked Malas because there are beautiful houses that I want to own. These houses are more interesting to decorate, unlike the dull houses on Britannia. To some, they may not care, but to others like me, removing Malas will be catastrophic. I began playing back in Repsak’s time. I only managed to GM my tailor before I quit, and I came back only because of the addition to the game, Malas. Like I said elsewhere, I will be very disappointed if Malas is removed. There are players who want more role-playing, but I don’t think it is right to force the players to play the game the same way you play. It might be better if you ask whoever wish to have more interaction to stay in one place where allowing others to roam free across the lands.
It may seem that removing Malas will help the players to come together, but if you analyze it a bit, you will see that the effect will be insignificant. However, removing it, you remove our unique feature so we are less competitive to other shards. You may also drive out players who loved Malas. I can only see removing Malas will have a lot of negative effects with positive effect being minimal.
At this point, I don’t think removing Malas will enliven the shard. I think you should focus on gaining new players. I feel that this shard is not new player friendly. There is a lot of information that old players have, but it is not accessible to the new players. As a player who didn’t play a lot before but recently came back, many times I feel lost. The first time I tried to buy a set of armor for my fighter, I can’t decide on the type of ore because I don’t know anything about the effects of the ores. Some think it is the secret of the trades (which I don’t think it makes sense, why would you expect people to buy things without knowing what property it has?). Without a blacksmith, there is no way I can find out the property of the ores, therefore, I can never decide what armor to buy for my fighter. Also, some guides could be made available as well. Most of the old players are probably maxed out on many skills. I don’t really see why players are not willing share their training tips.
As for promoting player interactions, you should focus on promoting socializing. I think having improved messaging system will have more effect. What I mean is something like in-game mailing. I think we used to have this (or I saw it in another shard), where someone can send a message to another player, and a pigeon will deliver the message to the player instantly. This way, players can interact with others no matter where they are in game. This is more realistic than limiting where players can travel to. Even in real life, unless you go to the same school/work, you talk to your friends through msn/icq/phone/email much more than you talk to them in person. You call up your friend to go out together. You don’t run into them at some part of the city and start at the corner of the street, and you don’t talk to random strangers on the street either (not normally, maybe occasionally), so I don’t think it is necessary to enforce centralizing the players. Another thing you can do is to promote in game activity such as festivals or competitions where players can come together to do something together (though you may need to announce it in on forum first to have enough people to come). Same as in real life, not too many people have too much time on their hands to walk around the city only to find someone to talk to. Most people are busy going about their own lives, and it is hard to get people together unless you are doing something together.
All in all, I think you should focus on promoting socializing among players, not decreasing the playability of the game.

theres nothing unique on malas that would hook new player here. malas was published 7 years ago so why would someone come here play when you say "we have here malas and good rp". i agree it looks good in game but the land isnt that new. unique deco is probably what you mean.
Remove Malas
Replace Imperial with The Clockmakers Union (Just remember that we have more than twice as many members as Tekstone all ready...)
Restaff Order Of Law (People that are rich enough to pvp...)
Make players be able to craft clocks that face more than one direction.
Allow a global drug trade just think of the rp considering 70-85% of the active players are drug users...
Fix underground lockdowns...
Allow more islands to be bought
Perhaps allow buying of land that can not be fenced off. (Islands)
Fix the boat hopping bug.
Allow guild coloring of clocks.
Perhaps merge some of the housing complexes into one house with a higher house value.
GIVE US SOMETHING TO WORK FOR...
Allow player npc vendors...
Bring back npcs warrior
UNLOCK ALL THE BUILDINGS... (you know the ones that are locked for no reason...)
UNLOCK the desks how do you expect people to squat in random buildings if they cant stash stuff...
meaningless visual "noise"
auditory hallucinations / sound distortions
altered sense of space and time
fear and/or paranoia
feeling as though one is losing one's mind
feeling as though one is dying
Allow the Enhanced Client so people can stop being so laggy...
Fix the quest vendor bug.
Fix the bug allowing silenced rites, chants, spells, druidthings, musicing, vendoring, bankering and controlling pets
meaningless visual "noise"
auditory hallucinations / sound distortions
altered sense of space and time
fear and/or paranoia
feeling as though one is losing one's mind
feeling as though one is dying
1) Malas came out in 2007'ish. Not seven years ago.
2) Lets focus on the topic, not on EVERYTHING that's wrong. One thing at a time.
3) Thank you Tiffany for your feedback. As I mentioned, we're only talking of this option and all sorts of comments are welcomed. Ofcourse a poll is in place later on aswell. Basicly this thread for you guys to give feedback and ask questons (about the topic).
As I mentioned before, the unique stuff does not make a shard good. A good shard is all about players and IMO, we have good players. Now you can say "Hey we had 100 active players five years ago". So what? How many of those knew what roleplaying is? How many of those knew about our rules? Even if they knew the rules, did they follow them? Currently the best pikes are around 10-15 players online at the same time and my personal challenge is to hit 20+ on regular basis. It is hard because it's summer time and instead of sitting on the computer people rather enjoy the sun.
Still my main point is that instead of quantity, now we have quality and we (as the staff) are concentrating on you. I've experienced a lot of UO shards during my time and you really don't need many players to enjoy the game. There's a lot of (HCRP) shards with the same player base than Pangaea today. People come together because there's not as many things to do. Now we have too many options... starting from two lands and four religions. Trying to half that will make a difference, I promise that. Yet still, the religion part is your (Imperial's) choice. It's good that we have people like Alteran running the shard, instead of harsh assholes like me, who would cut the land and cut the religions with no questons.'

I definitely agree with your last sentence Chill out some, no need for a Kontrol on this shard, that is why I will never go see how Pang 2 is doing. But alas, I know you are not forcing a close down of Imperial, I am none the less agreeing with the shut down of Malas and Imperial, I would rather lose 60 piety than see the shard completely die.

Since when a guild is better than an order? And an important rp and historical order such Imperial??
Are fkin kidding me man?
I hope Boris just place Imperial in Moonglow, and we keep the game as it used to be, everything at it's rightfull place!

I never really liked Imperial's RP nor their efforts to write 'history' - aka. attacks on Britain etc. It was GM forced fights, 'quests' and change in history and thus they never earned it themselves. Quite useless religion in my eyes. Delete.
Nuh-uh, lame religion. Almost as bad as Nature and Law. The only religion with a real historical impact was the good old Tekstone. Gah, feeling nostalgic again.
