Ill just take Glarundis point on rites (which I think is justified) and present a solution for one of them, the guards!

Some years ago Imperial guards wouldnt attack mobs! I see this as the perfect solution for summoned guards, they should only attack players, not mobs! Otherwise, like glarundis stated, if you die and cant kill whatever yoinked your stuff just summon guards and YAY there you go!

Taking this one step further, all rites could be prevented from being casted on mobs! (the only hard exception I can think of atm is swarm)

This would render priests a lot weaker on PVM, true... But like glarundis said, religions have their own RP motives and its defenetly NOT to pvm all day long!

the guards are definately the most lame thing
I don't we just make it so you can't cast them inside dungeons?Doesn't work for every single thing you're hunting, but atleast covers some of the possibilities
And yeah, I suppose we should be doing more rp/pvp than pvm as religions :P

when i saw neal cast veritas on undeads to rape them all i shat my pants...(in 2007)
Only satisfaction i get from being baba to this day is, i still can kill dragons better then priest. Specially if my weapon is blessed

Well my thoughts on this are.. everyone makes a choice when making their character on what they want to play, what to expect, what not to expect and what they want to do. I for one, not currently owning a religious character but have many times over many years enjoyed the rites, especially on PvM. Religions aren't just about PvP though and from what I read that's exactly what's being pointed out and by neutralizing them to not being able to cast on mobs is basically stating they are for PvP. If you want to have that advantage in PvM with rites, then make a religious character. It doesn't or shouldn't force you to be restricted to PvP only as one. I can see the point with guards, however, does it not just drop "player" loot? I unlike other people normally end up hunting by myself. If I die for some reason to a mob because of stupid crap like lag, internet disconnected, power went out or whatever then it's nice to be able to use those guards. Every character has it's advantages and disadvantages that others do not. You make the choice of what you can or can not do when making a character and should live with the fact knowing so.

Yes, but making guards is the same as, when you die hunting, you a .idiedinpvmkillmonstersthatlootedme command.
Religious chars can have that, but others not. Why? Would it make sense for any player to have such command? No it wouldn't. But religious chars have that, disguised as guards.

what the hell does that mean?
priests are piety chars, it's ok they get their piety. But that's not an excuse to use the .command thing disguised as guards if you died in pvm
everyone else has to deal with it the hard way.
priests are already very good in pvp and pvm. Must they have it the easy way when they screw up too?
Why don't they get lockpicking and remove trap, that's basically what they need more.
