Re: Guitar
Mostly interested in exercises that develop finger strength and accuracy. Speed wouldn't hurt either. My current favorite is going through the five positions of Minor Pentatonic, and going through it with triplets.
Re: Guitar
I'm studying guitar (classical guitar) at university.
For left hand, you can use the same exercises for strength, dexterity, speed, etc, maybe with minor changes.
About the right hand, if you are playing electric guitar, I can't help you there. I studied electric for two years or so, and I know some exercises, but not many.

Re: Guitar
YOU KNOW WHAT BLIDE?!?!
Awesome link.
And Glar, what kind of exercises do you know of for right hand? I only know two alternate picking exercises. And yes, electric. But I intend to buy an acoustic when I've attained a bit of skill.

Re: Guitar
well yeah what you can do is
picking the strings from 6th to first, always same direction, then back
then same thing, but each string with alternate direction
then you can do same thing, but you pick each string twice, alternate directions.
-> combos
start picking strings that are not immediate to the one you picked
(like 6th then 4th then 5th then 3rd...etc)
and ofc, you can do this with scales, triplets, etc
every exercise you can come up with is good as long as it's not bad for your physical health which will make you have problems later when you want more speed/difficult things
things like these train dexterity, and about speed, oh well, you just advance the speed..
But like I said, I'm used to a different right hand so this is just a bit of what I can remember
here's a site that can help you, in terms of scales and stuff (not in technical terms, but in musical terms)
http://www.looknohands.com
You open it, go to guitar room(advanced) and there you go. gazillions of scales and chords

Re: Guitar
Thanks for the advice Glar, helped me make a few more exercises that seem to aid me. And wow what a link, thanks man.
Those videos are pretty cool Blide, it's nice to see such skilled players. Feel free to post any other videos you think are worth watching!
Here's one I thought was pretty epic. Those Who Fight Further
