Need a new scripter?

Does Pangaea need a new scripter, or are you just dandy with the quality and pace of the things right now?

PS. I offered to script for Pangaea but you know, danes, RL, the decisions here drag a while.

It is my personal opinion that Pangaea always lacked an active, dedicated scripter, who would breathe fresh live into the shard on a regular basis, not just big updates or minor changes.

Ultimas magic was always in the little things, and how they affected everything (in my opinion), but theres never enough of those.

I don't want to contribute to the start of an incendiary topic but I think it needs to be said. Boris does a better job of managing the shard while avoiding micromanagement, limiting GM IG intervention, balancing the needs of IG elements and intelligently addressing facts (such as: the low player base). He has been given the responsibility to run the shard but not the trust develop it. For anything to change on pang that is meaningful and lasting, two things need to happen: find a decent scriptor, transfer the remaining control of the scripts web/server hosting/financial responsibilities over to Boris/staff. Until that element changes, pang will continue to remain an under 20 player base shard. Imperial has goals that we want to meet, and we can bring SOME activity to the shard, just like any other player could in any other religion; we will always hit a wall when it comes to getting to that next level of maturity for the shard as a whole because those whom started this project (Repsak/Alteran/Irming etc.) are unwilling to part with the little bit of power they have out of some nostalgic or narcissistic psyche. From a players perspective, I empathize with Boris. He is given the job to run the boat, but not steer its direction.

I'm sure this is an opinion shared by MOST of the old players.

Also, I agree with what Tyrion said.
But I thought all the files and everything needed to make pangaea run smoothly was accessible to whoever is admin now? From what I understood it is not the case for _everything_ that Boris/admins need to make their work the best possible. Or did I misunderstood?

Boris has no direct file / database / etc access. Working on that though.

I do not own this shard, it's owned by the admins who pay for it. Sure a scripter is needed, but that decision is not up to me or the other GM's.
