Non-PVP weekend

Post by Aileth »

I'd like to suggest that once in a while (once per month or per 2 or 3 months) we have a non-pvp weekend.

You might be asking why this should happen, let me explain (please read before voting):
- There is a number of players who have changed their gameplay considerably, in order to abstain from pvp. They are not against pvp, but it is not always a good time to engage into this type of activity when you just want to relax and have some fun.
- Some pvp likers have been growing tired of grief-pvp and simply stopped playing their fighters, thus diminishing the amount of hunting considerably.

The goal of this poll is just to determine how many players would like to have this in order to give an idea to the playerbase and GMs of the people who don't/are afraid post (all of you people! vote!).

Above it all, people want to play this game for fun, and it's not fun to be harrassed every time you want to do something. There's macroing for the hassle already.

At the current time, Pangaea is more PVP with RP and a little PVM than the other way around. Maybe a drylooting weekend can be discussed too for PVP lovers!

A dryloot weekend wouldn't bring much for robbers, people just wouldn't hunt or use crappy cloths.

A no pvp weekend sounds like a free pass to mass hunt with no fear, which is supposed to be part of the game.

Agreed on every point of yours, it has been turned down for the reason of 'activity'

Thats actually why i am considering wether i should still bother playing on Pangaea or not, since its slowly running into a PVP fest and the GM's dont do anything for it right now cause they've got hands full with fixing the classes and bugs.

However, i do like this idea and i will vote a big yes for this one. And oh, instead of having the PVP/drylooting week, nah - we can just make it a non-PVP weekend, filled with quests so once in a while the playerbase can do something together and have fun.

EDIT; There are currently more manhunts than public quests, aswell. So, ugh....hello? -_-

You have a point there.

I voted yes, and a weekend without pvp would not hurt that much the pvp lovers.

Anyway i would go for the "once in a while" weekend without pvp :)

Robbers could rob other robbers, and even if people would use only crappy cloths that still would be more than it is now, when magical clothing isn't allowed to loot at all.I like idea with no pvp weekend but i see it more like once per 2-3 months.

Cant understand point of this post, over 90% of the online time you are not in pvp if you dont want to be. Even if you want to be you will only get only 15% of the online time in pvp...

You have realy small chance to meet robbers when you do quick solo hunts or even large group hunts. Imo get the fuck out of the city, i find a lot of hunting spots full of loot filled monsters while i do my usualy run trough map about once a day and i cant possibly hit you every week on that run.

So actualy this would just lessen the PVP on the shard for those who actualy look for it and doesnt realy have any kind of effect on ppl who just PVM

So i vote idc option.

Sounds like someone just want a safe hunting weekend.

No from me. Pangaea is never safe. Never been.

Ivan, I'll comment on what you said (maybe a bit too much), it's a good example to explain some things.

"you are not in pvp if you dont want to be"
Ask some of the shy players who don't feel a need for virtual penises or the rush of pvping how much they have to condition their game in order to play.
"You have realy small chance to meet robbers when you do quick solo hunts or even large group hunts"
Do you call it fun playing when you have to bother someone to gate you and rush it? I don't know how many group hunts you have seen lately, I have seen 0.
" i find a lot of hunting spots full of loot filled monsters "
simply because those places are frequented by robbers, most people now avoid them.
"i do my usualy run trough map about once a day and i cant possibly hit you every week on that run."
and I do like the lightness with what you say that you can't run by people every week. Do you know how many robbers we have at the moment in the shard? Imagine if all of them did the same as you do. Now imagine you were the victim, I'm sure after the third or forth time you will stop going there because you know your fate! And yes there are more than 7 robbers, which would only mean you'd get robbed AT LEAST once a day.
"So actualy this would just lessen the PVP on the shard for those who actually look for it"
what about the ones that aren't looking for it? I think they deserve a chance as well.
