I didn't want to reformat at all. It was the only solution since my one partition had less than a GB on it after attempting to install Windows 7 on it and kept getting a blue screen of death and I didn't have enough storage to do another install as it was saying. Which ended up being due to the fact I had to unplug my graphics card and mouse since it was USB and drivers for it not been installed yet. (If only I knew that then!) So it would keep causing an error and blue screening me. Also attempted to install it on my other partition and had same problems, which then my brother ended up accidently screwing over anyways. Though today... I have managed to get it back. I'm still having issues trying to get my graphics card installed properly though. Adding in the driver keeps causing a blue screen. I've now also replaced my original video card for another one not even been used yet and same issues. It's weaker than my old one, but hoped it would work until I guess, I go buy a new video card.

Good news is, at least now I have my computer up and running again. It's just installing all my missing drivers that I'm fighting with now. Oh and I also see BOTH my hardrives instead of just 60 GBs of one sicne I installed Windows 7 on my other partition. The "System" not "Primary" parition. Well it's only 1 HD but still two seperate "66.4 GBs" worth of space, "C:" / "G:" etc. I originally had just the 1 available to me on the other partition. =D Now.. to try and get my graphics and sound back....

I can't remember what the virus pop-ups were saying exactly except from what I explained earlier. Why would I go to a porn site, when my buddy Kyle loaded tons of GIGs of it on my external HD years ago? I don't need websites that only give you viruses anyways. Yes, I clicked on a "How to" website to learn where to place in my pads, basslines, hihats, drums, lead riffs etc for putting a trance track together which ended up being a fake site and ended up with a virus.

*EDIT*

Oh yeah. I also couldn't get into Safe Mode yet, as Windows 7 was still installing. It would only say "Windows 7 can not finish installing while in safe mode" or something similar and close down / reboot on me. Eventually though I could and needed to to delete a fie for my video card. Ummm... atimdag.sys I think it was. Which kept causing blue screens.

WEWWWWWWWT!!!!!!!!

Got my Computer back. Seems my hardware and/or Mobo wasn't compatible with Windows 7. *sighs* ... well there went having my 8 GIGs of Ram! Now I'm back down to 4 Gig capacity. :( Oh well... got my sound and graphics card working, which was my only issue using Win 7. Couldn't seem to get my Realtek sound working nor a working driver for my ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT video card. Auto-detect wouldn't fix it, nor going to the official ACER or ATI's website nor any Catalyst Control Manager's I tried.

Windows Anytime Upgrade only shows me Vista Ultimate and no Windows 7, unlike my brother. So I only assume the system can't handle it. :-/

Now... to get back all my lost data. The downloading begins!

The only way I can figure they have a longer battery life is because they're apparently too dumb to cash in on the cheap manufacturing of terrible things. Damn I'm sick of companies making their money back 3x over by lowering their quality. We can blame 'Murica.
