my best was lvl20 warrior. getting to lvl20 is easy, problem is getting all that fame
now, a few tips for those who are playing, to make sure they die a lot less.
put an easy to press macro to go to the nexus (mine is ctrl). THE KEY RESETS TO DEFAULT EVERYTIME YOU START THE GAME, so be sure to adjust it again. this way, whenever you are feeling you are going to die (surrounded by too many monsters, low health, whatever) just hit the key and go to safety! this way, you'll die a lot less. also, if you don't know, you can use your potions by hitting your number keys, no need to click with your mount on them

I pretty much only click with this game, I wish there was an option to not go to Oryx's castle..But I usually run with it for a little bit then go to the Nexus once my healthbar is low..

it's like uo, you think "this shit is boring" and then after a while it gets you hooked

daren, what do you mean you have max fame?you'll have "max fame" on that bar only when you are going through the class quests (until you reach the 5th star), after that, there's no max fame anymore, afaik.
and you don't have to go to oryx's castle, just get back to the nexus as soon as you get there. but if you avoid dying, you get a lot of xp there just by being near the other players.
also, be sure to read their forums, there's shitloads of info about every monster, how to get fame, etc etc etc, tips, tricks...apparently the gods drop potions that increase your stats permanently (that must be how ppl can fight oryx and all, since a lvl20 char gets hit twice by an oryx bolt and dies...)

I found myself into a medusa lair or something, leached 100 XPs every kill, died at level 18

nowadays it seems i die to oryx monsters or leviathan. those motherfuckers...throwing 4 green bolts simultaneously...some monsters are just too hard and impossible to solo
